Ten black former American Idol contestants from various seasons have filed a lawsuit against the show, claiming that they were eliminated from the competition due to a racist ratings scheme, TMZ.com reports.
New York attorney James H. Freeman, representing the plaintiffs, says he began investigating the show after Jermaine Jones was kicked off on March 15, 2012, because he didn't inform producers about multiple outstanding warrants for his arrest. Freeman then discovered that throughout Idol's then-11-season run, only nine other people had been publically disqualified. And as it turns out, all of them happened to be black.

Candice Glover just won season 12 and last time I looked - she is black.

Right you are. The show launched Hudson’s career. And since, she has sold tons of albums and won an Oscar. Not bad for a racist show.
No, but she has succeeded. Her role in Dreamgirls treated her quite well. She won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress.

Simon Cowell was a equal-opportunity offender of contestant’s feelings; regardless of race....
Ruben, Fantasia and some other guy won....and they were black.
I’m sorry that the 14 gazillion contestants who auditioned over the years were kicked...there is only one winner each season.....regardless of race, and determined by audience votes.
I guess we need more Obama phones voting.

I’ve experienced racism and not once did it ever occur to me to file a lawsuit against anyone or any entity. I saw it for what it was, an asshole being an asshole; the world is full of them.
Judge Mariah Carey is mixed race also but she, like Obama, is considered black by the black community. This matters because it means three of the four judges are black...on a show that these people claim is biased against blacks. It doesn’t even pass the laugh test.

That is because they LIED on their application forms. There were other people disqualified, but not publicly because they TOLD THE TRUTH on their forms. The fact that all the LIARS turned out to be black, has nothing to do with racism.
I know, I was just sharing my experience. Blacks always cry racism when they don’t get their way. It’s because they have been taught to claim that life’s failures are no fault of their own but are the fault of a racist American society, the same American society that elected and reelected a black man to the White House. :-)

Hey South40..... For the past 5 years I have been experiencing racism every single day, but I’ve gotten kinda used to it. Being a white cracker just ain’t that easy anymore. ;>)
I haven't watched it for a few years now. Without Simon and Paula, it stopped being funny.
