"Democrat Sheila Jackson Lee Filing Bill To Cut Funding To Any State That Doesnt Change Stand Your Ground Laws To Duty To Retreat" Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D-Texas) said Wednesday that she would soon introduce legislation that would cut federal funding to any state that doesnt require neighborhood watch programs to register with police.
Jackson Lee said her Justice Exists for All Act is a response to the trial of George Zimmerman, who was found not guilty of murder and manslaughter charges after shooting 17-year old Trayvon Martin. Zimmerman was the neighborhood watch coordinator in the Florida neighborhood where the shooting took place.
We will
decrease the incidence of gun violence resulting from vigilantes by reducing by 20 percent the funds that would otherwise be allocated
to any state that does not require local neighborhood watch programs to be registered with a local [law] enforcement agency, Jackson Lee said on the House floor.

oops 18th
Just attach a rider to her bill that says that the citizens of any state that is “cut off” are thereby exempt from federal income taxes.
You will successfully impeach Obama, before you get rid of SJL in her district.
She'd be good for target practice, too. (/kidding!)
It would only be questionable if Shanequia were White or White Hispanic.
In the news clip, after 1st going home and telling her mother, they called Quannell-X for "protection".
The bullets would melt.
These idiots. Their ignorance of history is appalling. Guns, I am certain, saved the lives of more than a few black men and women during the height of KKK activities. Guns are the great equalizer when a mob attacks a lone man or a man and his family.
I am sure that there are current cases of a black man or woman defending themselves from white attackers. Does she want to repeal self-defense in those instances, too? Or does she want the blindfolded lady of justice to look at everything through her bigoted, racist eyes?
I thought this was The Onion. Some of these Dem congress-critters actually outdo the most outlandish parody websites.
This dolt and the congressman concerned about Guam tipping over due to our naval presence are at the top of the list.
Weirdest thing is I don’t know why she didn’t just stay there and call 911 there. Smacks of “hit and run”.
Not that she really did anything wrong. But sometimes you have to watch your step, how you handle the aftermath. It can look bad - and this is on camera, including looking like she took enough time to walk around and take pix, but yet somehow felt too scared to use a phone because he might have too many friends there. Better to stay for police. At least George was there when police came and even “gave up” right away.
Better to take it to the right threads, which I’ve already done.
All talk, no action.
There’s stupid and then there’s this.
Revolt is coming.
Personally, I’d like to see a bill that promotes advancing on your attacker, rather than just having to stand your ground. I think that any thug that’s stupid enough to attack a seemingly defenseless person deserves to be pursued and possibly shot in the back.
Take that, Sheila!
From the video, the old man doesn't attack or lunge toward her until she fires a round at his feet. ...just harassing her, up to that point.
Exactly, and I’m not sure that meets most people’s standards for taking a direct shot.
I’d certainly belt him 1. Maybe use the longarm to butt him.
Agreed.
I see nothing wrong with shooting a retreating robber, either.
In fact, we should be treating even “mere theft” much more seriously, including how the victim handles it. Then we’d have much less problem with actual murder.
Governors of states should tell her....go right ahead....we won’t send you any tax revenue and fees we collect for you....you dumb idiot blockhead....
But it sure helps.
