A new CBS News poll finds more Americans than ever want the Affordable Care Act repealed.
According to the poll, 36 percent of Americans want Congress to expand or keep the health care law while 39 percent want Congress to repeal it - the highest percentage seen in CBS News polls. The poll also found a majority of Americans - 54 percent - disapprove of the health care law, 36 percent of Americans approve of it and 10 percent said they don't know about it.
The poll also found just 13 percent of Americans say the health care law will personally "help me" while 38 percent said they believe the law will personally "hurt me."

“Obamacare will go the way of Prohibition.”
Not a chance. It’s coming as of 2014. The gop wing of the uniparty loves that it subsidizes the insurance companies, the ‘rat wing of the uniparty loves that it socializes the biggest industry in the country. Both wings love the amount of personal data it requires.
Give it time, it will.
how depressing
my neighbor who is in housekeeping in a resort is so upset because her take home pay will be reduced by almost half due to Obamacare
They won’t repeal it and they won’t defund it absent massive, sustained protest. I have suggested that folks boycott the health care system altogether. If enough people do that, major change will be possible.
That’s where we’re headed. Complete train wreck to fundamentally transform America.
But THESE people sure were proud of their (especially HER) opaque, underhanded, slimy, objectionable process!
The only one missing is Dingy Harry...
Oh, never mind!
"Here I am, Nancy--slimier than ever!"
didn’t another poll just say Americans don’t want it repealed?
I believe this is true.
However, to get there, there WILL be permanent damage to high quality American health care. Here is a few ways that come to mind:
1) employer-provided health insurance will be forever removed as a benefit to many employees.
2) large numbers of high quality physicians will leave (either the country or the practice) to find more lucrative areas. They won't return.
3) the incentive for medical research will be eliminated and American medical advancements will stagnate. This will never be re-established, much the same way that our space program has lost the ability to go back to the moon.
4) medical records will be in the hands of the government, and they will never be destroyed completely. The present generation of citizens will forever lose their privacy.
5) millions, who were previously covered, will die due to rationing of treatment.
6) a medical black market will develop for medicine and medical care. The mob will retain some control on healthcare well after Obamacare has been repealed.
7) the 'entitlement mentality' will only deepen.
I see your comments to Cotton’s post, and I would say this...
For what you say in general depends on how long it takes to get Obamacare-less off the books.
More specific comments...
1. Employer provided health benefits will not go away for bargaining unit employees if Obamacare folds. It may or may not go away, at least temorarily for salaried employees. (if I were a new hire in a needed field, I would make health care a part of the bargain).
2. Physicians are not going to leave the country. Most will not leave the practice if Obamamination Care is overturned. Some will go to a cash only, no insurance basis, and this will cut the cost of healthcare to their patients.
3. The incentive for medical research is DOLLARS $$$$$, lots of ‘em. Only if that ‘incentive’ is removed will research be diminished. Healthcare has no relationship to the space program. One is needed, the other is not (perception in the eyes of many)
4. Medical records? FU Big Govt. FUBO. Elect congress critters who will deal with that problem.
5.Rationing is not a factor if we do not have Obamanation Care.
6. FU, Mob. Not an option. No black market. Consumer choice will prevail, and physicians choosing to go cash only will also prevail. This is not a new, unproven option, some have already go this route and doctors and patients have found significant benefits...including significantly reduced costs for health care.
7. Forget the entitlement mentality. This is an opportunity to deal with that too.
Ooo! Harry & Blinkie!
This is EXACTLY what they want them to believe.
Indoctrination has worked perfectly.
the best opportunity to get out of this left town when people on our side decided that four more years of Obama was better.
SEIZE THE NARRATIVE AND MOMENTUM!!!!
Stupid (Party) Republicans. Go ballistic on this, strike while the iron is HOT!
The only ones who want obamacare are those who are convinced they can get something free at the expense of others.
Americans aren’t bright when it comes to the Constitution and freedom, but when it comes to “free things” they know where the end of the line begins.
I’m not so sure about that. Socialized healthcare is like a tick on your dog: once it gets its claws in there, it sticks there and gets bloated.
I have lived in both England and Canada. Our systems here are pretty bad (although not as ill-conceived as Obamacare), but it has gotten to the point, where you cannot even discuss changing it without being trashed as far right radical. Which however, is a badge I wear with honour :)
...Ian.
I disagree. IMO it will come back again as Hillarycare when she is “elected” as POTUS in 2016 (or sooner).
“Wait until people begin to experience Obamacare. Thats when practically everyone will want it repealed.”
And the crooked, insider trading buffoons who passed it know that already.
This is why we are having to sit through Congressional hearings on Delaying the Mandates.
It’s designed to waste time so that the clowns who passed it can blame it on the Repubs when their Dem Base starts getting the rate hikes in the mail and the fines for not buying in through the State Exchanges.
This is Benghazi HRC, just on a longer time line.
“That was a long time ago, and what difference does it make now anyway?”
