Ted Cruz Says America Needs A Spiritual Revival
CBN News ^ | 23 Jul 13 | David Brody

Posted on 07/24/2013 4:31:46 AM PDT by xzins

In an interview you’ll only see on The Brody File, Sen. Ted Cruz says spiritual revival is needed in America saying, “I think we’re at the edge of a precipice. If we keep going down this path we’re risking losing our nation. We’re risking losing the incredible oasis of liberty.”

The Brody File team spoke to Cruz on Friday in Iowa after he spoken at the Pastors and Pews events in Des Moines. A partial transcription is below along with the video.

David Brody: Do you believe that spiritual revival is needed in this country?

Sen. Ted Cruz: Without a doubt.

I think we’re at the edge of a precipice. If we keep going down this path we’re risking losing our nation. We’re risking losing the incredible oasis of liberty.

America is the keel of the world. The socialists and the muslims have fought to gain control of it since muslim slavers started seeding north america with their dragon’s teeth. When it’s gone there will be only chaos and tyranny.

I think Ted Cruz is the real deal - been following him since NR did a piece on him several years ago.
Seems to be a Biblical Christian (not just a cultural one) - we know the difference (although they don't).
I could see him as the leader of the Republican insurrection (or a general one, for that matter...)

He is 100% correct, with the chance of it happening...zero. It is dead, Jim.

Cruz interests me because he says things that the glitterati deplore: spiritual revival, abolish the IRS, control the border.

More to the point, I think America is at a spiritual crossroad. We can totally abandon God or we can keep God in our national identity. I think a powerful lobby is pushing for abandoning God. A silent majority cowers as it clings with uncertainty to its traditional Christian beliefs.

And there are zero leaders of Christianity of any prominence sounding an alarm.

Cruz is the closest thing to a perfect conservative politican that I have seen in a long time. I am not here to debate his eligibility, but he as POTUS would be great for this country.

Why do so many people have nothing to do with Biblical worship or churches based on same? The Bible is the source of truth. Anyone living by the Bible will generally try to hold to a moral standard of right and wrong. Observations of life in the United States at this time would give an answer as to why people do not go to church:

1. Couples are not marrying. They are living together immorally. If they go to church, this becomes known in the community.

2. A huge number of people (of all races/groups) are cheating the welfare system. An individual with whom I work was clearly stating that he and his "girl" are living together, lying about their relationship and collecting food stamps, etc. and will continue doing so. If one misstates one's relationships and income, then free or reduced lunches go to the children at school. A LOT of people are doing this.

3. Dishonest business dealings. If you're not doing business honestly and you go to church, it is going to become known. Anyone involved in dishonest business dealings rarely goes to church...maybe Christmas and Easter, but that's about it.

4. If you like to gossip, lie, cheat and steal, why go to church where people will discover what you are doing and try to persuade you to do what is right? When you do not go to where you learn about a moral standard and do not take your children to learn about a moral standard, then the moral foundation of the nation collapses.

The consequences of such behavior are found in history. Usually, reasonable government in a moral society is soon replaced with despotic leadership in an immoral nation. The people in their suffering cry out to God and seek Him. And, the cycle begins all over again.

Cruz is right. But it has to start within each of us. Don’t look for “someone else” to start it.

Speaking to all my FR brothers and sisters - revive yourself, starting now. Jesus is Lord, and He is not unaware of what is happening.

Perhaps we should look at our situation as that of the Babylonian captivity. We have pretty much lost our nation for now. But in the Bible in the Babylonian captivity, God told his people in Jeremiah 29:

11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. 12 Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. 13 You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. 14 I will be found by you,” declares the Lord, “and will bring you back from captivity. I will gather you from all the nations and places where I have banished you,” declares the Lord, “and will bring you back to the place from which I carried you into exile.”

Never lose hope. Trust in the Lord with all your heart. God is bigger than our problems.

There is one. I found this to be a fascinating read. It is available in print, PDF, e-pub and Kindle format. It is free with no obligation. The source link is a good news resource too.

There was a point with Jeremiah at which repentance ceased being the message and he was to begin preaching the people were to accept and prepare for their coming destruction.

Perhaps so few are speaking against our decline, because God has shut their mouths, but I don’t think we’re there yet.

But how do you get a nation to repent?
