Tracy Martin, father of Trayvon Martin, the African-American teen slain in Sanford, Fla., by acquitted gunman George Zimmerman, will address members of Congress on Wednesday, sharing his thoughts on the black experience in the United States at the inaugural meeting of the Congressional Caucus on Black Men and Boys.
The group discussion on “The Status of Black Males: Ensuring Our Boys Mature Into Strong Men” is scheduled to take place from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. in Room 2737 of the Rayburn House Office Building.
Ex-Rep. Kweisi Mfume, D-Md., Georgetown University sociology professor Dr. Michael Eric Dyson and Obama administration aide David J. Johns are also expected to weigh in on the challenges facing today’s young black males.
Rep. John Lewis, D-Ga., couldn’t get away from the topic even at Comic-Con, alerting those assembled to hear him speak about “March,” the graphic novel detailing his own rites of passage in the segregationist South, that post-racial America is still a ways off.
“People said the election of Barack Obama is the fulfillment of [Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s] dream. And I said, ‘no.’ It’s just a down payment,” Lewis told HOH about the polarizing outcome of the Zimmerman case.
If anything, Lewis urged tomorrow’s leaders to remain ever vigilant.
“These [young] people, they’ve never seen signs saying ‘whites only’ and ‘colored only.’ But we have invisible signs today,” he said. “And the Supreme Court [Voting Rights Act] decision and what happened in Florida with this young man says that the struggle is ongoing.”
Maybe he will talk about his membership in the Crips.

Here's a few suggestions:
- stop fathering children out of wedlock;
- get married FIRST, then have children;
- STAY married to your children's mother; (emphasis SINGULAR)
- be a FULL TIME DAD, not some part-time deadbeat who misses child support payments and only lets your son stay with you on weekends or when his MOTHER KICKS HIM OUT.

So the keynote speaker is a gang banger who rarely saw his son, fathered 2 other kids w/different women, and called the jail first when he realized his son was missing the next day. They’re not serious about this and never will be.

You hate to get personal, but, Trayvon’s grieving parents haven’t been raising him all these years. Other assorted relatives have stepped in, as they were unable or unwilling to do the job. They are not a couple anymore either.
And, it’s said that Trayvon’s dad is a gang member.
All in all, it’s clear that Trayvon was going down the wrong road. The jury concluded he threw the first punch. Perhaps because he wanted to show Zimmerman he was tough. Probably a ghetto thing. That Rachel girl said that Trayvon was giving him a whoop ass, which I assume also is some ghetto terminology meaning beating somebody up.

Let’s see if we can set race relations back the full Monty, instead of 60 years, let’s go the full boat, 150 years.
Let’s see if we can dial up the victimology routine another notch or two. Probably we can shuffle some taxpayer monies and get some of our consulting buddies to conduct studies costing millions of dollars to show what any rational person could observe if it isn’t obvious on its face. And then we can create programs and agencies to employ our buddies in cushy do-nothing no-responsibility government jobs to hand out grants and, while we’re at it, get every crack ho a $5 dollar bill so she’ll vote for us next time. Maybe we can establish a cabinet-level position with several hundred people on staff with a hundred million or so budget, to set goals, develop guidelines, create milestones, seek waypoints, modify diversity attainment levels, and in general, modify society according to how we all know it should be done.
Sure they have, there's a coloreds only sign hanging around the CBC.
The biggest threat to young black men, is young black men.
