It is impossible for weapons to fall into the wrong hands.
I’ve been down this road before but many younger people may not recognize the scenery. The Cold War puppet-masters are at work again. What the hell is America’s vital interest in Syria? I feel sorry for the victims of that conflict but it’s not our job to save the world.
There are other factors in the complex equation besides weapons.
It is erroneously assumed that the Assad military is uniformly loyal. That is not necessarily true.
With the real possibility of losing, elements of the Assad military will abandon the lost cause. Life must go on. Life with Assad will be less and less viable.
