Illinois Democratic Congressman Luis Gutierrez, one of the seven House members working on a bipartisan immigration reform proposal, spoke before the National Council of La Raza’s (NCLR‘s) immigration town hall during the organization’s annual convention, saying he believes the House has enough legislators to support a reform bill.
“We found the 50 Republicans needed to pass immigration reform, now we need to get it done,” said Gutierrez. The Congressman urged Boehner to let this group of Republicans join Democrats and not insist on a majority support for reform, like he is insisting on.

Only chance to stop the Amnesty bill is for the House not to consider any immigration related bill at all.
Michelle Bachman explained it. ANY House bill no matter if it promises all the border security in the world will be a trojan horse.NO bill at all must come out of the House because it will be merged with the Senate Amnesty and trojan horse bill. Call congress.
Tell them to stop all Amnesty or immigration bills.they are all trojan horse bills. some will promise border security that will never be enforced anyway.
Bachmann explained it . The House will write a border security bill only . then in conference the senate will add the virus and then bring it back to the house. then the conservatives won’t vote for it but democrats will all vote for it so then they only need 10% of republicans to pass Amnesty and the virus that will destroy America. so any bill at all will be added the virus . so best thing is for Boner to not let any immigration bill at all come out of the House. that is the only hope . call boner and the members of the House.

Dems have blocked reform for decades by preventing enforcement and done very well among Hispanic voters.

Yes I knew that. Gutierrez, who is also in the gang of 7, went on univision and said there is a path-to-citizenship in the House immigration bill.
So I called Carter's Washingtom DC office and asked why Carter wants to be in a group with Gutierrez, whose statement contradicts Carter's stated position that he opposed a path-to-citizenship. They mumbled something about working with Dems, but also promised that he will keep his promise to oppose a path-to-citizenship. I stressed that I take that promise very seriously.
In fact, I told them I thought passing any immigration bill is playing with fire. But my thinking is that any bill with citizenship is very easy for a conference committee to merge with the senate bill.

I found a contribution from HEB to Carter, but it was 83rd on the list. He may be involved with some evil lobbyists, but I don't see much of a case involving HEB.

You must have missed Janet’s speech today. She visited the border at Brownsville and it’s safer and more secure than ever. There is just superb cooperation between agencies on both sides of the border. We’ve nothing to worry about. /s/
What I would like for her to do is to go into Mexico all by herself unannounced in an unmarked car and spend a day or two driving in the interior of Mexico. Or maybe talk to the thirteen-year-old that was raped by the ten illegals on our side of the border.
There’s 1 and a half more weeks until the Summer Recess for Congress. If we get there with no bill from the House we have a chance to stop Amnesty. hope we can run out the clock. burn the phone lines down. no immigration related bill from the House at all as any bill will be merged with the Senate Amnesty bill.
