The reason it now 7 members and now more Dems than GOP is because one of the GOPer walked because they were including amnesty.

Carter alongside with most of the Tx Goo are owned by the HEB billionaire and cheap labor construction lobby.
Just google him and lobbyists.
It’s ugly.

Yes I knew that. Gutierrez, who is also in the gang of 7, went on univision and said there is a path-to-citizenship in the House immigration bill.

So I called Carter's Washingtom DC office and asked why Carter wants to be in a group with Gutierrez, whose statement contradicts Carter's stated position that he opposed a path-to-citizenship. They mumbled something about working with Dems, but also promised that he will keep his promise to oppose a path-to-citizenship. I stressed that I take that promise very seriously.

In fact, I told them I thought passing any immigration bill is playing with fire. But my thinking is that any bill with citizenship is very easy for a conference committee to merge with the senate bill.

I found a contribution from HEB to Carter, but it was 83rd on the list. He may be involved with some evil lobbyists, but I don't see much of a case involving HEB.
