ObamaCare is at the center of a rapidly escalating fight that threatens to shut the government down this fall.
Republicans have tried this maneuver in Obamas first term, only to back off later to the chagrin of Tea Party leaders.
This time, GOP lawmakers are emboldened by problems plaguing the administrations ObamaCare implementation.

I totally agree with him.It captured well the general FreeRepublic circa 2013 feeling of utter hopelessness, didn't it.
Meanwhile some such as Sen. Mike Lee soldier on despite the long odds.
From the article:
"In the House, 64 Republicans have signed onto a letter pressing Boehner not to bring any legislation funding ObamaCare to the floor. Sen. Mike Lee (R-Utah), the leader of the Senate effort, predicts the vast majority of the Senate Republican Conference will back his plan, giving him enough votes to sustain a filibuster of a stopgap spending measure."

It’s all for show.
The pubbies are frozen in the NSA PRISM data file because they’re all dirty except for a couple of em.
They can, and will, only do what odongo tells, or allows them to do. We only have one political party in this country now.

It’s been all over this site for several years now. Feel free to search.
If you think the government requiring people to purchase anything from anyone under penalty of law is constitutional, you’re welcome to believe that. I suspect you’ll be in the minority on this site, though.

Oh great, first a furlough, now the looming possibility of a government shutdown. Will be going from a 20% pay cut to a 100% pay cut!
To: FreeReign
From the article:
.............Congress in recent years has regularly passed stopgap spending measures known as continuing resolutions to keep the federal government running beyond the end of the fiscal year. This has been necessary because lawmakers now routinely fail to finish their appropriations work by the Sept. 30 deadline. This year, the expiration of laws appropriating government funding coincides with the start of open enrollment for healthcare exchanges set up by the Affordable Care Act.
"An aide to Lee said Republicans wont be blamed for a shutdown because they will offer legislation to fund all other government operations except for those necessary to establish the new healthcare law.
This is going to be the litmus test of whether you do or do not support ObamaCare, said Brian Phillips, Lees spokesman."..................
I say let's do it!

Republicans will cave...and not for the reasons most think.
ObamaCare has nothing to do with health care. It is meant to be a new Federal government "trust fund" to take over the self-issuance of US Treasury securities that Social Security and Medicare used to provide. Both of those "trust funds" now have more outlays than receipts.
The Republicans will cave because their leadership knows that the monetary Ponzi scheme needs to keep going in this nation, or we fall headlong into the Greater Depression.
This is the same reason Republicans will continue allowing the Federal deficit to balloon. They're scared of what's coming - not just in the US, but world-wide.

MISDIRECTION ALERT
Do NOT take your eyes off immigration. They plan to occupy the news cycle while they slip through amnesty.
Then they will back down on "shutting down" the government.

“a Democrat President, a Democrat dominated Senate, and a Democrat dominated House should be ... will be forever responsible for the MESS they created.”
But they never will be HELD responsible. Not with the corrupt, kneepad media we have now.

Please advise as to what makes Obamacare "uncontitutional law" Nowhere in Art 1, Sec 8 of the Constitution was power delegated to Congress or the Federal Government to have ANYTHING to do with health care. Therefore it is unconstitutional.

Nowhere in Art 1, Sec 8 of the Constitution was power delegated to Congress or the Federal Government to have ANYTHING to do with health care. Therefore it is unconstitutional. From Article I Section 8 we have ...
"The Congress shall have Power To lay and collect Taxes, Duties, Imposts and Excises, to pay the Debts and provide for the common Defence and general Welfare of the United States ..."
Given that, Chief Justice Roberts was ironically right in deciding that Congress has the constitutional power to give us Obamacare.
Message therein is that we age getting what we the people voted for.
To: OldNavyVet
The ol’ “welfare” clause.
So, we are to give everyone money, houses, clothes, food, as well as doctors.
Wonder why the Founders themselves nor their descendents for some 6 generations never thought of all that nonsense that they supposedly wrote about.
