Hillary Clinton and New Jersey Governor Chris Christie are running neck-and-neck in a potential 2016 presidential match-up in Iowa, according to a new poll Monday.
Each was supported by 41 percent of voters in Iowa surveyed in the Quinnipiac poll. In a match-up with Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, Clinton was on top, 46 percent to 39 percent. Vice President Joe Biden trailed both Christie and Walker, 32 percent to 49 percent for Christie and 39 percent to 42 percent for Walker.
The poll also found that President Barack Obamas disapproval rating was at 55 percent, and only 40 percent of voters approved of the job he is doing. Thats a five point increase in disapproval since a May poll, and one of Obamas lowest approval ratings in any of the states Quinnipiac surveys, the polling institute said.

Obamas disapproval was also high among independent voters, an important constituency in the heavily independent state. Voters who identified as independent disapproved of the job the president is doing 59 percent to 37 percent. Thats up 6 points from the 53 percent of independents who disapproved in May.
While Iowa voters have a favorable opinion of Clinton, 52 percent to 41 percent, Biden is viewed unfavorably, 47 percent to 38 percent.
Quinnipiac surveyed 1,256 registered voters by phone from July 15-17 for the poll, which has an error margin of plus-minus 2.8 percentage points.

Didn’t we just have an election?
Geez, talk about getting started early.
not too important, i won’t vote for’either.
Where are the polls that show the result of...
HRC vs Ted Cruz?
vs Rand Paul?
I think these pollsters know the answer and are afraid it goes against their liberal narrative.
the faces of our government.
bloated, fat and happy. time to end this crap.
Another example of why Iowa should be about 43rd on the primary timeliness.
Nothing short of the second comig of Christ is going to get Crispy Kreme the GOP nomination. Not in a million years. :-)
Some choice. The lesser of two evils,or the evil of two lessors.
I agree!
America has no future.
I don’t care how Chris Christie polls against Hillary or anyone else, I won’t be voting for the fat Obama butt kisser anyway.
Right behind New Hampshire at 42nd.
HRC vs Ted Cruz?
vs Rand Paul?
I think these pollsters know the answer and are afraid it goes against their liberal narrative.
PPP, which is further left than Q-pac, included Paul in head-to-head matchups. The results were quite interesting; Paul actually did one point better than Christie, but lost to HRC by 4 more points than Christie does because a lot of the "not sures" switched to HRC.
So at least right now, Paul is more popular than Christie with Republicans, but the gain in votes from Paul gets more than wiped out by moderates being frightened into voting for HRC by Paul.
PPP didn't include Cruz in Head-to-Head, but did include him in the Republican nomination; he was 6th, with Paul leading.
Most people in Iowa probably don't even know who Cruz is. Remember that Iowa Republicans, the Iowa electorate, and the real world, for that matter, bear little resemblance to Free Republic.
Good point .
I think Christie may have two waist sizes on hildebeast but its close .
Iowa has an open straw vote so Dems pick our candidate !
Politico released this from the White Hut, nothing in Politico is worth 2 cents.
Iowa has caucuses restricted to each party.
There’s an idiotic and pointless straw poll in Iowa that has nothing to do with choosing delegates or the caucuses.
Oh, Christie's a Republican?
Are you sure he didn't switch parties?
I’m not buying this. This is just the left trying to select the GOOB nominee again. Politico probably has a load of Christie’s skeletons ready to go. Barry didn’t take Christie on those long strolls along the beach just to look at the damage. Barry was getting information from him.
