Some filibuster abortion bills, some march against them, and some wear tampons on their ears.
On her MSNBC show Sunday morning, Melissa Harris-Perry brought attention to Texas recently-passed abortion regulationsand the burnt orange-clad demonstrators who had fought their passagein her own way: with a pair of homemade tampon earrings.
My producer Lorena made for me last week some tampon earrings, Harris-Perry said as she put on the jewelry. The Texas state legislature said that you couldnt bring tampons in, when these women were going to, in fact, stand up for their own reproductive rights.
During a second special session of the Texas legislature, security in the Capitol building briefly banned tampons from the rotunda for fear that the feminine products would be tossed at lawmakers passing the last-minute bill. The earlier protests had been so disruptive that Lieutenant Governor David Dewhurst had been unable to call a vote on the bill, resulting in an embarrassing but temporary setback for Texas Republicans, who vowed not to let demonstrators get the better of them again. But Capitol security got a bit overzealous in confiscating tampons from female protestors, a policy they quickly reversed after it garnered national attention.
So just in case that ever happens again, ladies, you can just bring them on your earrings, Harris-Perry said.

That explains the mental toxic shock.
I'll tell you. They recognize it as one of their own devices: The Salami Slice Approach. Take your goal, represented by a salami, and slice it up into manageable sections (translation: each slice is a bill that you believe you can get passed into law), and go from there.
The libs know the next step will be to reduce the cutoff point even further. It's what they would do if it was their bill. That's what they want to prevent.
Look at seatbelt laws. When it was introduced, they had all the LEO's say they wouldn't pull someone over just because they weren't wearing a seatbelt. Now that they have everyone used to it, LEO can (and say they will) pull you over just for not wearing your seatbelt.
You have to get the law passed first, then go from there.
A style statement from a bloody moron.
Perhaps the political statement she is making is all ports in the storm.
More than your typical bleeding heart.
And THIS, folks, is what is SUPPOSED to be OBJECTIVE MEDIA!
If there is ANYONE who is unsure of where the media’s loyalties and priorities lie, look at this Leftist schill.
If she wants to protest with performance art, let her resign and walk full-time on the street corner - not unlike whoring.
We’re the confiscated tampons used? They were also getting jars of urine and feces. It occurred to me that perhaps in sync with that, the tampons were bloody or soiled in some way. It would fit with the rationale.
Maybe she should stick her head up her p-—y then.
He’s on Miz NBC at 7 pm....
Another Week old fluke smelling up the lone star state.
One would think that 20 weeks would be long enough time to decide whether one wants to off their kid or not. I stand corrected
As long as we keep filling the coffers of the advertisers, PMSNBC will continue this carp.
Hey lady, 50 million child deaths and counting.
Those glasses do make you look smart - those tampon earrings not so much!
There's the rub.
used to be we would put people like this in “funny farms”....they are a danger to society, and themselves.
I am surprised that they did not try to sneak in parts of aborted babies (bless their hearts in heaven) because they only consider them to be “tissue.” In that case, would she wear diapers from her ears too, to complete the theme?
Douche bags may have been more apropos.
