Korea matters said, "Not since her comeback in June, 2009, her absence has been this long. She has been suffering from various illnesses and could be gravely ill.

Yeah. Her health is on again and off again for a long time. It is said to have deteriorated further in a last couple of years. She may not last long. She could be gone this year. That means a linchpin holding various factions in N. Korea regime disappears, heralding more turmoil

I agree that they will go to great lengths to keep her alive. Just like Chia Head's last days. Chia Head died before he was able to complete laying out a firm ground for smooth succession to his son. If Jong-eun’s aunt also passes away prematurely, he would be in real bad luck. It seems that his past record of accomplishment is sparse. Most of them backfired, woefully misguided. Events are not cooperating, either.

Some speculate that the aunt is the reason that Kim Jong Eun is retaining power. Once she goes, the military chiefs might think they can depose him.
