Go to any liberal zip code in Michigan and you will find the highest proportion of folks driving foreign cars. Go to any parking lot at any public school here in metro-Detroit and you will see plenty of foreign cars. I always want to ask those teachers when was the last time the majority of the children in the their classes were Japanese or German.
I’m all for freedom of choice in buying decisions but you can’t claim to love Detroit and unions if you are buying foreign cars.
Of course, Detroit’s experiment in self-governnance has also been a miserable failure over the last four decades.

Detroit was run by progressives for 50 years. There hasn't been ANY Republicans on the council since Keith Butler was there, and Keith served one term and no longer lives in the city.
There hasn’t been a Republican Mayor in Detroit since 1961.
The end result of pissing away achievement for has resulted in more than 10,000 homes that will need to demolised and who knows how many buildings and former factories.

Attention Mr. Schultz: Detroit got this way due to solid DEMOCRAT rule from 1961 through 2013. Republicans haven’t had a say in how Detroit was run, mismanaged, looted, and destroyed. The smart people and businesses have either moved to the suburbs or out of the state. Detroit managed its own suicide with DEMOCRATS firmly at the helm.
Black riot in 1968 nationwide destroyed many cities, caused rise in crime and whites simply left the city to them. As long as blacks control the cities, the whites will not return. They may commute in to work in high tech companies that take advantage of tax incentives, but rarely visit or be willing to live in Detroit. If the gov offers low tax incentives, it will be Hispanic immigrants (legal and illegal) who may take over the neighborhoods. Hispanics and Blacks do not get along.

Yes, Ed Schultz is nuttier than squirrel droppings. But he is hardly unique in his utopian presumptions and angry protestations at a world that stubbornly refuses to conform to his fantasies.
If Obama could only force all the white people to move back into Detroit, accompanied by a trillion-dollar Federal bailout, all would be right again. But people don't know what's best for them: that's why we need government. To force them to do what's best for everyone.
