I thought Melissa Harris-Perry’s utterly illogical talking point about Detroit serving as an example of what “Republicans would impose on us” was bad, but this… Do you think that maybe he actually believes what he’s saying, or that he’s just straight-up lying through his teeth because there is literally no good way to spin Detroit’s fiscal collapse as anything other than the inevitable conclusion of a total progressive utopia without peddling outright falsehoods? Because, according to Mr. Schultz — and stay with him here, because there’s a good chance you might not have realized this — Detroit’s ruin was actually the end result of a conservative utopia. Is your mind blown, or what?

I’ve heard that some parts of Detroit were never rebuilt after the riots of 1967.
Jesse JACKSON and others talk about dis’investment in our cities, but they never talk about why major retailers and other businesses avoid places like inner city Detroit. You would swear listening to them that businesses are all racist, and avoid certain areas due to racism, and that there is no other possible reason for white flight and businesses leaving.
In Detroit and many other cities, middle class blacks moved out of these cities after the big riots of the ‘60s. Were all of the black ppeople who moved out racist????.

Don’t even get me started. LOL. My DH’s cousin and her husband lived in A2. He was a teacher who drove his “Pious” 40-50 miles one way to school five days a week. When they were getting ready to move, they asked DH, who has a Ford truck and who drives *2.7 miles* one way to work, to act as their U-Haul.
On moving day, while DH was doing the majority of the heavy lifting, the pasty-faced, soft doughboy of the the overly liberal variety had the nerve to say that the Ford was a “gas hog.” A2 is 55 miles from us. I wish my DH had said, “Yeah, I considered all that gas hogging and potential harm to the planet when you called to ask me to help you move. You’re lucky I decided to come.” :-)

One would have to shut down major portions of one’s brain to accept this BS as truth.
But I think Ed has succeeded marvelously.
The media is going to endlessly pound away that it was the GOP’s fault, and more and more people will come to believe it. Lying works. The truth doesn’t.
This sort of rhetoric appeals to the low information voters who tune in to MSNBC nightly to get their “news”, that’s all.
You can bet CNN and the Big Three will pick up on Schultz’s spiel. The left is already blaming it on racist creepy ass crackers who left the city and left it underfunded.
