Our family photograph would be about the same. Biological and adopted - each one wonderfully made by their creator and loved unconditionally.

Not too far back. Notice the shopping cart? Looks like a photo from the seventies to me.

That must have been before government forced racial integration.

Having endured the painfull physical consequences of forced racial integration personally, I can tell you that picture is a snapshot of children who had no idea they were supposed to hate each other.
They learned that later.

When I was that age, growing up in a city near Detroit, I didn't know I was supposed to be the evil white oppressor of anyone.
On my first school field trip, we visited another elementary school in town, we students had pen-palled with all year, and I tasted Hawaiian Punch for the first time in my life!
I thought all black kids were rich people, because we didn't ever have anything like Hawaiian Punch at my school...
