Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Alison Lundergan Grimes on Thursday said in her first encounter with reporters in 17 days that she found many things that are wrong with the Affordable Care Act but blasted Republicans for their approach to the law.
The U.S. House voted Thursday for the 38th time to repeal the Affordable Care Act. And Grimes said rather than wasting time and taxpayer money for one chamber to keep trying to repeal it, Congress should be focusing on ways to improve the health care system.
Grimes said as secretary of state she has concerns about the effects on small businesses but did not go into detail and cut off the Q and A with reporters before answering how she would vote in an up-or-down vote on whether to repeal the law.
Grimes, who first announced she would run for the chance to challenge U.S. Sen. Mitch McConnell on July 1, also criticized the president on his policies toward Kentuckys coal industry.
Heres the full exchange between reporters and Grimes:

She seems pretty much like an unintelligent Democrat with no real schtick....I sure as hell hope someone challenges the hell out of McConnell on the Republican Primary side.
My impression from her overall presentation is that she might be qualified to run for City Council. No fan of McConnell but if I were a KY-ian, I’d drive thru broken glass to vote for him over this womyn.
When Joe Stalin began implementing his 5 year collectivization plans in the Ukraine and the peasants and kulaks (middle class) began to starve, the more draconian his approach became. He was convinced, initially, that corruption and incompetence were causing the widespread starvation. He later convinced himself that the starving masses were suffering the consequences of their own counter-revolutionary resistance to his perfect communist vision. Don’t ever expect a leftist to abandon a bad idea just because of its catastrophic result; that’s always somebody elses fault.
As bad as McConnell is Lundergan Grimes would be much worse. Looks like conservative voters in Kentucky will be stuck with a “lesser of two evils” choice again.
What will be interesting is the impact these ads already running against her will have on her own primary. Remember how poorly Obama did against “uncommitted”? In this case, she has an actual name on the ballot to oppose her. The Dems will probably get another person to file to split the vote 3 ways to avoid embarrassment.
If she’s a Democrat, sure. I’m just saying I hope he gets a strong primary challenger. He’s a RINO dirtbag.
Socialised “health care”, here we come.
Easiest improvement is to repeal the law that is destroying it.
Then we can fix the few things that cause real trouble, mostly government interference that has skewed the market.
Meanwhile, we need to keep reminding everybody, every day, that the democrats had a supermajority in the senate, and a huge majority in the house, and the presidency.
They could have put ANYTHING THEY WANTED into this health care bill. They didn’t have to make a single “compromise” with republicans. Everything in this bill is something a democrat wanted.
So, every single thing they admit is broken is their fault. And, to steal a quote from Obama, why would we trust those who BROKE the system to fix it? Why would we trust those who drove the car into the ditch? Just get out of our way, and let us get the car out of the ditch.
