I still http://m.newyorker.com/online/blogs/closeread/2013/07/what-should-trayvon-martin-have-done.html
There has been some commentary to the effect that Rachel said she was talking with Trey on his father’s porch. If true he then went in search of Z to give him a whoop ass and got one instead.
Smiled and had a civil conversation with George.
It’s amazing what behaving civilly will do for relationships among people.
Here’s another way to look at this manufactured outrage: T-bone was looking for things to steal, while George was looking for guys looking for things to steal.
Once Sir Drank figured this out, he was looking for trouble and he found it when he jumped Zimmerman. So one less black punk, self-styled gangsta. Good riddance.
That may seem cold, but it really isn’t. They’re just Undead: Hostile, dangerous and relentless zombies.
And I believe that he would have done so had he even suspected that EZ was armed.
That should read (creepy ass-cracker) see the difference? Trayvon thought GZ might be gay (ass-cracker). Too bad didn't think GZ was an armed (ass-cracker).
Ever heard of the “knock out game”? It was just a matter of time before one of the assailants got killed. I'm sure it has happened before. This appears to me to be a warning to gun owners that if you protect yourself then you'll be prosecuted. Think about it. The prosecution made a big deal about how trivial his injuries were. Broken nose, cuts to his head. Looks pretty bad and dangerous to me. But, AFAIK and maybe someone can correct me, you don't have to have any injuries to defend yourself. Hell, i’ve been severely injured and didn't show any cuts or swelling that was apparent. I believe that if he didn't have any apparent injuries he would have been convicted.
The way this case was prosecuted and portrayed in the media, then the only way you can defend yourself with a firearm is if you are half dead. And personally, I'm not gonna let it get to that point if I can help it.
What should Trayvon Martin have done?
How about not case houses in areas with a history of break-ins, and then when under surveillance, make an exit.
One hard look at Obama’s city of Detroit tells the whole Trayvon Martin story!!! From the once mighty economic engine driving the American economy, the “Obamabots” have turned Detroit into a massive slum of human failure. The truth hurts....but....the truth is still the truth!!! What does Obama, Detroit and Trayvon Martin have in common??? Drugs, crime, Black racist hatred, thugs, criminals, street gangstas, broken families, multiple abortions, economic failure, etc. Trayvon Martin was far from the innocent little boy the media and his Black Racists advocates made him out to be!!! Teen thug would be a more apt description. Black Americans...take a good hard, honest look in the mirror...and, you will discover your shortcomings and self-inflicted wounds to the maximum!!!
I have a question for the AG. Why was it ONLY the non black that had a requirement to retreat ?
If you haven't watched his material, sign up for an account (you don't have to pay for a basic one) at PJTV.com. I am on the verge of becoming a paying member, the content is that good.
That was something that irritated me as much as the happy teen Trayvon meme, with him sitting and smiling on a horse, etc.
It was the portrayal of his no-load, scum sucking “parents” who had a as much with Trayvon turning out the way he did as he did with his own personal choices.
I saw a picture of the both of them, the portrayal of hard working, clean cut, dedicated parents who have been wronged by a racist society, him shaven wearing an nice shirt and tie, her neatly dressed and presentable.
Neither one of them seemed to lift a finger to raise him and teach him the right path. Make no mistake, Trayvon Martin knew right from wrong, it was harder to go the right way, and he thought he was entitled to go the wrong way.
There is a big difference between the “the responsibility to retreat”, and “remove to a place of safety”, though both of them are conditionally common sense.
The is an old mobster saying that you should “charge a gun, but run from a knife”. In both cases it implies close proximity.
*If* you are face to face with someone and they pull a gun, you cannot outrun a bullet, so you have no choice but to either charge the gunman or surrender. However, if you are more than 25 feet away from a gunman, the sane thing to do is to take off running.
But it is not a “responsibility to retreat”. You run away to “remove to a place of safety”, because it is a better option.
However, if you do not know a man is armed, in unusual times and places like the Martin-Zimmerman event, the sensible thing to do is to “remove to a place of safety”, not to attack someone who may or many not be an attacker.
So what is the “responsibility to retreat?” It exists only for the advantage of an armed person pursuing someone who may or may not be armed. Never a real “responsibility”, it is based on common sense. If you are chasing a gang banger, and he flees into his ‘hood, it may not be to your advantage to pursue him into his territory, where his confederates may be waiting.
He should have stayed home.
I’m just trying to come up with an explanation for what may have motivated Martin to attack Zimmerman. Martin thinking he was being followed by a homosexual predator is one possibility that fits some of the evidence/testimony.
During the reenactment interview with police Zimmerman recalls the verbal exchange something like this.
Martin: You got a problem?
Zimmerman: No.
Martin: You do now, homey (smack)
Some people have suggested that this conversation couldn’t have happened because ‘homey’ is not current vernacular in black culture. But what if Martin was saying ‘You do now homo’ and Zimmerman misheard him?
“Im just trying to come up with an explanation for what may have motivated Martin to attack Zimmerman”
Knock out game. That’s what they do. Although they tend to do it in groups just in case things don’t go their way.
That’s right.
Wow. Wonderful Whittle wisdom - terrific link.
My brother and I get together once a week, and often the first thing we do is find out what is new from Bill Whittle. Every single thing he has done is superb.
