Florida Gov. Rick Scott held an emergency meeting Thursday night with pro-Trayvon Martin protesters that staged a sit-in outside his office to demand an end to Floridas Stand Your Ground law.
Scott, who has been under fire from activists in the wake of George Zimmermans acquittal in Martins death, met with protesters at the State Capitol and reminded them that he agrees with Floridas Stand Your Ground law, but that hes calling for a statewide day of prayer for unity to help people of all persuasions move beyond the verdict.

More than 100 protesters from the group Dream Defenders, which previously coordinated with a unit of the Obama administrations Justice Department, descended upon the Florida state capitol Wednesday demanding to meet with Governor Scott to request that a special legislative session be held to repeal the states Stand Your Ground law, which Scott supports. Scott, who is facing tough re-election odds in 2014, initially showed no sign of desiring a meeting with protesters, but eventually caved in at 9 pm ET Thursday night, at the end of Day 2 of the protesters sit-in in the lobby of Scotts office....

Rick Scott, Pam Bondi, Angela Corey and Berni de la Rionda should all be prosecuted for the attempted Murder of George Zimmerman.
Rick Scott is a sniveling COWARD. He should be recalled and then thrown in jail. He is a despicable criminal coward.
BUMP
Let's take a look at that, shall we?
The media have failed miserably in their crusade to disarm Americans in general. Not one of the senseless incidents of slaughter has been an effective tool in recent years as the driving force for more constraints on the RKBA, in fact, just the opposite has occurred with rare and limited exceptions.
Not Sandy Hook, nor Aurora Colorado, not even Gabby Giffords' new-found poster-child status has been enough to throw against the firmly held belief that Americans have a Right to Keep and Bear Arms, and furthermore, the unalienable right to use those arms in self defense.
By trying to make this a racial issue, by trying to blame it on "too loose" laws regarding self-defense, the media are desperately trying to find a crack in that armor.
The SEIU, the usual race-baiters, and other professional agitators are the last assault force, who (if ever) win concessions by threatening or implying threats of violence and/or disruption.
The Communists have failed, again, to turn legitimate self-defense (the jury said so) into something it is not in order to further their agenda of weakening America and Americans' fundamental rights.
People need to encourage the Governor in the other direction from the agitators (pols always stand straighter when the majority, as perceived, has their back).
They don't ordinarily have much for a spine, but exert enough pressure and they can stand up straight.
Its irrelevant that SYG was not part of GZs defense. What is relevant is what these leftists want...
And what they want is Back-door Gun Control. Thats all there ever is or was to this case. Striking terror into Whitey's heart is a twofer.
Look for a conservative to be elected as the next governor of FL.
Well primary Gov. Scott.
Evil dies when the good news of the Gospel of Jesus gets proclaimed.
Remember when Americans had a backbone? When they stood up to communist agitators?
Oh, puhleeeeeze. It's been 8-10 generations since slavery and 2-3 generations since Jim Crow. Isn't it about time that all people got over race?
How many times do the protesters and media have to be told that this was not a “Stand Your Ground” case. The defense said from the beginning that it was not a SYG case but a case of simple self-defense. SYG did not come into play in this case at all. But of course they don’t let the facts get in the way of a good riot.
this from a culture that will cap a teenager for wearing the wrong color t-shirt
Another Floridian republican that is actually a rat in disguise. What is wrong with you Florida??????
I voted for Rubio, I voted for Scott.
It won’t vote for either again.
If we can’t run conservatives who stay that way with principles we are doomed.
We probably already have crossed that line because on need only look as far as Ms Jeantel to see what shape our inner cities are and academia is not much better.

By the way.
1/3 of the stand your ground cases in Florida that resulted in homicides. The stand your ground defense person was black. That is more than double the 12% of the population that blacks make up. So blacks are protected by stand your ground, but they want to get rid of it. Go figgure that out.

The State GOP in Florida is in corrupt ruins, a bunch of old Bulls crowding, and fighting over the feeding trough of public pork. There has never been such a wonderful opportunity for a Tea Party Conservative to rise up and challange Scott. Take notes from Ted Yoho’s 2012 campaign. He beat the old guard like a drum.
Yes they are votes all right and by coddling the “takers”, he MIGHT stay in power.
Scott is really doing everything he can to torpedo his re-election bid.
He’s already lost the four votes from my family.
I have changed my voter registration in Florida from “Independent” to Republican for two reasons...one to vote against Governor Rick Scott in the Republican primary next year...and two, to vote in the Republican primary for the candidate that will oppose Democrat Patrick Murphy. I intend to campaign heavily to defeat both Scott and Murphy...who are absolutely useless!!!
“Explain the facts to these people.”
That’s the problem these people are either to stupid to
understand the facts or they want whitey to sacrifice
Zimmerman as appeasement. They are no different than
muslims, there is no compromise. The liberals have been
very successful at creating an army of America
haters right here at home.
