Vanderbilt University Medical Center to cut 1,000 jobs - good freaking grief!

Vanderbilt University Medical Center plans to cut its workforce by more than 1,000 employees within the next two years, The Tennessean reports, citing people familiar with the center's plans.

Some of the cuts are expected to come by offering early retirement options.

Vanderbilt University Medical Center is targeting $250 million in budget savings over the same time period, or about 8 percent of current expenses, according to The Tennessean.

"It is clear that we must embark on a comprehensive effort that is immediate, achievable, proactive and ensures success over a multiyear period, while the health care and biomedical science economies we live in reshuffle into a 'new normal,' " Vice Chancellor of Health Affairs Dr. Jeff Balser said in a memo to staff, according to The Tennessean.

They were begging for obamacare and now they have to deal with the consequences and are squealing about the cuts in reimbursements. They are the biggest employer in the state.

It stinks that the left is able to delay so much of the junk they have created via fed monetary “pumping” and delaying the employer mandates.

The people need to witness the culprits before the wreckage is passed on to responsible people who will work to fix it, but be blamed for the pain.

A thousand means nothing unless we know how many employees the hospital has today.

That’s one reason I think payroll withholding tax should be abolished. People should have to write a check each month or quarterly, to really see what the government is taking from them.

Thanks. So, they’re cutting less than 5% of their employees. That’s not so bad. I’m
“assuming” that equals 5% of paid work hours, too.

Absolutely, people might register. I gulp, shake, swear, hesitate and gag every quarter when I write the check and send it. I know whatever I send isn’t enough and I’ll probably have to pay more.

Vandy is my hospital

Great docs and facilities

Bloated often rude and low IQ staff

Non professional staff mostly resentful Spike Lee stare thru you sorts who ought to be at codes or motor vehicle on govt teat

Local billionaires have thrown major cash their way

And they have poached major talent

Several docs of whom I am social with

They and the money folks ...Ingrams...Eskinds....Carell heirs......Miller family.....demanded admin higher ups train these folks in civility and manners

This ain’t Bellevue

My cardio pal.....very right wing like me....is frustrated

They are using budget cuts to purge the riff Raff that think they are entitled to work there

And Vandy will be better off

It is a private hospital

I wonder if it will ever dawn on the low information Obamanoids that all of the doctors leaving the profession means fewer doctors to see them. What the hell good is “free healthcare” if there aren’t any doctors to see you? Remember also, the Ocho Gangstas are preparing to load 30 million foreigners on to the waiting lists. Good luck with that “free” healthcare.

My VA doctor is from Nigeria. I really like him. The nurse is black, very Christian, very pretty and we hug each other at the beginning and end of every visit. I can’t explain this, being so racist and all.

Modern immigrants/visitors from Africa are often spiritually and intellectually many cuts above the slave-ancestor Negro crowd. Well, at the risk of being very un-PC, it must be stated that importing kidnapped slaves was a curse and invited demons, and and on top of it remember that these guys were the losers in the inter-tribal battles that served them up to slave ships as POWs. Had early America been prescient enough to ban this sort of slavery (I don’t mean indentured servitude, but the kind where the person was owned involuntarily all their life, and that for no wrongdoing on their part) we might not be in the pickle we are subject to today.
