Rep. Paul Ryan said Thursday that Republicans are taking care not to push illegal immigrants to become American citizens as part of any comprehensive immigration reform package.
We dont want to push people into citizenship, Ryan said in an interview with KFYR 550 in Bismarck, N.D.
Ryan said immigrants are more interested in finding jobs than in becoming citizens.
Most people just want to have a legal status so they can work to provide for their families, he said.

As to legitimate residents and citizens . . . who cares if illegals want jobs? Let them find them in their own damn countries

You would think that after a few years of sampling all of our welfare programs and free health care, and voting in a few elections, that they would already have a thorough enough sample to know if they want to sign up to pay income tax and have dual citizenship.

You are happy to offend American citizens who want a sane immigration policy, but God forbid you should offend an illegal alien.
And I once thought you were one of the good guys.

It would be nice if Ryan would talk about how to assure illegals can’t come here and get on welfare benefits, but of course we know that will never happen. The Detroit of today is the California of tomorrow.

Even that clown Joe Biden made him look like a wuss in their debate.
I couldn’t take more after he started talking about “bean” in the debate. It was so corny and made him look like a wuss.
This immigration thing makes me never ever won’t to see him on a national ticket again. If he keeps the BS up, I wouldn’t care if another demo replaces him because he’s becoming part of the problem.

What a jackass....ship them back where they came from, and start over.
It would save BILLIONS in handouts, but business interests (the ones who push Amnesty and "Los Freebies" will get their Amnesty approved and continue using the cheap labor, with their Benefits being funded by Taxpayers, as usual).
We need to put bounties on Illegals, and that would sure solve the issue.

Paul, you are trying to obfuscate the issue.
You’re dead to me, and when the letters start bombarding me for money, I am going to send them back but not with money in them. A short note in every letter I get.

Rep. Paul Ryan said Thursday that Republicans are taking care not to push illegal immigrants to become American citizens as part of any comprehensive immigration reform package. By all means, let's not FORCE anything on the criminals, those poor dear victims of our open border, anything-goes policies. Goodness, we wouldn't want them to worry that they have to **gasp** pay for some of the services we offer (which in fairness should be completely FREE to them): health care, medicine, education, housing, etc.
My gawd.... what a sorry, sad disappointment that nice boy from Wisconsin has turned out to be.

Damn it all! "Push" people into citizenship?
No one had to push my immigrant ancestors into anything! They came here willingly, legally, and through great danger - once here, they helped build this Great Nation! I am in awe of my antecedents - the withering persecution they endured both in their Homeland and after they arrived here testify to their fighting character. They and those they engendered have more than paid their dues, in war and peace.

Work to provide for their families, while they get Metro Housing, Medicaid, Food Stamps and send their wages to their families in their mother country.
What a bunch of stupid people there are in office.

Update: A spokesperson for Ryan later elaborated, saying Ryans statement did not actually reflect a major concern of Ryans. Ryan simply said we dont need a special pathway to citizenship to fix our immigration system, said the spokesperson, Kevin Seifert. Mister Ryan is expected to clarify further upon returning to the home planet.
