Camille Saint-Saens wrote a number of fine sonatas. This four-movement piece is one of his great crowd pleasers. The finale is a killer piece of music. Ive seen violinist Scott Yoo play this a number of times at the Festival, and hes done it so often he doesnt use a score anymore. This recording is a classic from the Fifties, featuring Jascha Heifitz.
