Apparently its not even April Fools Day.
Musician Akon has called for black Americans to start making an exodus back to Africa following the verdict in the Zimmerman trial. Akon, who was born in the United States but primarily grew up in Senegal, declared that black Americans dont deserve this treatment after the jurys decision.
On his Instagram account, Akon wrote, Every African-American in the United States need to move their money, family, knowledge back to Africa were [sic] you will be treated like the royalty you are, saying that the U.S. is not your country.
Oddly enough large numbers of African immigrants are moving to the United States. Maybe theyre sick and tired of being treated like royalty.
Maybe that explains why Akon has a 2.5 million dollar mansion in Atlanta, instead of taking all his money back to West Senegal, where they would probably make him king of something.
Meanwhile here are some photos of Akons miserable home in the United States where he lives in daily oppression and degradation under the reign of his butler.
This just looks like a living hell. I cant understand why he doesnt move back to West Senegal.
“.. Akon wrote, Every African-American in the United States need to move their money, family, knowledge back to Africa were [sic] you will be treated like the royalty you are, saying that the U.S. is not your country. .
I’m in total agreement with the guy. Since the odumbo’s THINK they are royalty, the get to be first on the boat.
So much to do and sooooooo little time.
Hushhhhhh
We’ll even send a leader with you that is a true African to help teach you the ways and he has a ready made staff to follow. When you get there you can build him and his cronies a palace and every thing will be rainbows, unicorns, and skittles for all. Sounds like paradise.
In just about all African countries if you want to succeed, you have to do something. And if an ambitious American went there they could rule. Except the incumbents would kill them.
So, in short—hard working and ambitious—you get shot. Lazy and slothful—you will starve. Better to stay where you are.
It was following the 1977 miniseries “Roots” that many American blacks went to Africa in search of their own. The aftermath went underreported as native Africans treated them with contempt (”you are the descendants of slaves!”) or scorn (”all of you so-called blacks have mixed-race ancestry!”).
Alex Haley, the author of “Roots”, journeyed to the ancestral land of the fictitious Kunta Kinte, but had little to say about it afterwards.
The problem is there is little or nothing that conservative Republicans can to convince "minorities" we don't despise them. Not even turning liberal would work. Because many minorities don't like white people of whatever political persuasion. Do you really think there is anything conservatives could do or say that would make people like the idiot in this article like us?
And there is nothing wrong in making fun of or actively disliking anti-American malcontents of any ethnicity. We make the same comments about white libs who threaten to leave. If they want to leave the country permanently, we're more than glad to see them go.
Thank you for saying what needs to be said. I see it as a real problem on this board. Post after post of one line slams against a race as a whole are regularly seen, increasingly.
The current climate presents great provocation and too many of us are taking the bait.
It is past time for thoughtful FReepers of good will to push back.
Devoutly to be wished ...
Just to throw in a curve ball Akon is also Muslim.
I predict that any that do will come back very much wiser.
The naive who actually believe this pap would be quickly disabused of the notion that they would be treated like royalty. In Africa they would learn quickly what it means to be truly poor and destitute.
Exactly. All of my black friends are just as conservative as I am, self made men, and would never vote for the current occupant. They also lurk this site I am sure. Wonder what they think of some of the posts...
It is past time to reel in the racism that is becoming more and more prevalent. FReepers need to see how they are being played by the race baiters and hustlers. Do not doubt that the idiotic and hateful comments are getting collected by aspiring journ - o lists out there.
Don't bet your life on that statement! A few years ago I thought the exact same way until I was proven wrong. More than a few voted for Obama simply because his skin is black. Tell me again.....Who exactly are the racists?
When I was in college and just entered the College of Engineering, we had a TA teaching a breakout class in Thermodynamics. He was from west Africa- don't remember which country. He wore a tie, dressed well, clean shaven. He was obviously very smart and certainly spoke well. One day, outside of class, the conversation led to him saying with a little disgust in his voice, "The American black is a disgrace to blacks".
That single statement change my world view. It never occurred to me to see America from the outside looking in, particularly as a black outsider.
Agreed. This is exactly hat Obama, Holder & Company want, BTW.
Hey Akon readers:
Par-tay this weekend at Akon’s crib!
Everyone wear a hoodie!
Collection will be taken to send American black men to Senegal, the wimmen can stay!
I have worked with many Black folks that come from Sub-Sahara Africa, the Caribbean basin and Haiti, etc. and found them to be honest, religious, family loving, hard working, independent, freedom, liberty, education driven, opportunity driven, decent, law abiding citizens that enjoy the American nation and strive very hard to assimilate into it. Big difference in culture between these folks and native American Blacks who live with a forever “racial” chip on their shoulders. Go figure!!!
Since there is a St Skittles "rally" in ATL this weekend maybe they could all hike over to Akon's to chill...?!
If I remember correctly, Alex Haley also made up a large part of his book “Roots” out of whole cloth. Alex committed fraud and very few people called him on this.
