Churches across Alabama are known for their clever and sometimes humorous signs promoting the Sunday sermon –but not many people are laughing at the sign outside the New Era Baptist Church in Birmingham, Ala.
“They’re calling me a hate-monger,” Pastor Michael R. Jordan told Fox News. “Most whites down South don’t like it.”
The sign reads, “George Zimmerman jury supported white racism.” It was first reported by Birmingham news reporter Greg Garrison.
Jordan said he made the decision to post the controversial statement after preaching the Sunday night message, calling Zimmerman a ‘”racist” and his acquittal a “racist verdict.”
“I believe racism and bias and prejudice caused the jury to be sympathetic,” he told Fox News. “Race played a major, major role in their decision and in their thinking.”
He said the 100-member congregation was stunned by the verdict.
“George Zimmerman deputized himself as a law enforcement agent,” Jordan said. “I feel he was a racist. He was stereotyping. He stalked and killed Trayvon Martin.”
The black minister also placed blame on white pastors.
“There’s been a breakdown in the white clergy,” he said. “They refuse to preach against blatant racism in America.”
As a result, he believes the lives of black Americans have been devalued.
“We can send Michael Vick to prison for killing dogs, but we can’t send George Zimmerman to prison for murdering an African-American young man.”
Jordan said he’s gotten lots of complaints about the sign but he refuses to take it down.
“They tell me I’m spreading hate,” he said “But the sign is staying up.”
We have a Walgreen’s not far from where we live and I used to get my prescriptions filled there. Every time I was there for a pick up there would be a few of those young black men hanging around. I watched them pick up scripts and talk to the pharmacist about their 0 pay Medi Cal cards over and over til I finally moved my prescriptions to another pharmacy. Its a little further but a different class of clientele.
They’ve got Talladega, so it ain’t all bad.

Who’s at fault? The white man.

If it was a warning they wouldn’t have specified the victim’s ethnicity.
Unfortunately this idiot just feeds into an outdated incorrect stereotype that blacks are somehow ignorant or stupid. This guy is indeed ignorant and stupids. Who called the police and who didn’t? Zimmerman is NOT white. The guy doesnt even know the basics of the case. It’s a shame and actually sets back progress.
I think someone hit the “nut the hell up” button somewhere because this is all becoming so over the top it’s ridiculous.
Exactly how was the jury ‘racist’? All the ‘whites’ vs. 1 ‘Hispanic’ and all? What gave the impression of superiority by the color of ones’ skin?
Since most of ‘em couldn’t tell you the difference between ‘racist’ and ‘bigot’, as soon as someone trots out the word I usually write ‘em off.
And sadly, that same unease you felt, they felt. And will likely fuel more anger and justification from them in the future.

Yep, it’s pathetic to keep getting painted as something we are not. I refuse to participate in this mob mentality. I myself have done nothing wrong, yet I keep getting lumped in with the white guilt losers. I wonder where all this is going and where it will eventually land.
Elders need to start the search process for a new pastor.

So what do they think SHOULD happen if you “rape a white woman”? Rapists shouldn’t go to prison if they rape a white woman? Are they saying rapists of nonwhite women get away with it?
The real world is just so opposite of what these people think. White women are raped by blacks much, MUCH more than the reverse, but no white church would ever be allowed to mention that on their sign.
A white Freeper recently posted that he was starting to feel like a Jewish person around 1935. I know how he feels.
They came into the store just as I was getting my prescriptions and they moved through the store steadily without shopping and then went out the front door just as I was leaving.
They never spoke to each other but moved together and then left.
It had a feel of intentional intimidation.
They weren't wearing hoodies or baggy pants but their attire was something they might wear in the hood.
5 White women and 1 Hispanic.
We need to follow the left’s lead and simply change the meaning of the word.
