As the Senate agreed today to stop the "nuclear option," Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) told Eric Bolling on Your World that he plans on filibustering the FBI director nomination. Democrats, led by Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, had warned Republicans that if they don't allow President Obama's executive branch nominees, then they'd strip Congress' power to filibuster.
Sen. Paul said he would put a hold on the nomination of James Comey as FBI director to get more information on how the federal government is using drones. "I'm trying to get a real truth. Is the FBI using the Bill of Rights? Are they seeking a warrant from a judge before they spy on us?"
He added the only way to get the truth is by using his leverage as a senator. "I think the leverage of using the filibuster to get information and to make the president obey the law, I think, it's a very important tool. And our Founding Fathers put it in there for precisely this reason."
Good.
Apparently, certain people in the town of Deer Trail, CO. don’t think so. God Bless them.
in the up and up— I'm concerned that the entire Bill of Rights (especially the 5th and 6th) is now disregarded as obsolete by the government and its agents (and apologists).
This Regime...HA!
Well, we use helicopters for “surveillance”. Especially in the larger cities. Drones would seem to take in a wider field of view. But beyond that, what would the differences be?
Yeh he needs to just come out and admit he got painted into a corner on that one and say he doesn’t really mean it. I don’t think he really does want to use drones to kill some guy running out of a liquor store.
The Bill of Rights!
Oh, please - what’s that???
