Rand Paul: I Want To Know If FBI Is Following The Bill Of Right When Using Drones For Surveillance
Fox News ^ | July 17, 2013

As the Senate agreed today to stop the "nuclear option," Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) told Eric Bolling on Your World that he plans on filibustering the FBI director nomination. Democrats, led by Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, had warned Republicans that if they don't allow President Obama's executive branch nominees, then they'd strip Congress' power to filibuster.

Sen. Paul said he would put a hold on the nomination of James Comey as FBI director to get more information on how the federal government is using drones. "I'm trying to get a real truth. Is the FBI using the Bill of Rights? Are they seeking a warrant from a judge before they spy on us?"

He added the only way to get the truth is by using his leverage as a senator. "I think the leverage of using the filibuster to get information and to make the president obey the law, I think, it's a very important tool. And our Founding Fathers put it in there for precisely this reason."

Apparently, certain people in the town of Deer Trail, CO. don’t think so. God Bless them.

I think the better questions to ask is if the FBI respects the Bill of Rights at all: it is obvious the NSA does not and, given the FBI involvement in Fast & Furious (or Ruby Ridge), there are serious reasons we shouldn't believe the FBI is necessarily in the up and up — I'm concerned that the entire Bill of Rights (especially the 5th and 6th) is now disregarded as obsolete by the government and its agents (and apologists).

Seems Rand Paul Can't make up his mind on how to handle the topic of Drones on US Citizens:

Well, we use helicopters for “surveillance”. Especially in the larger cities. Drones would seem to take in a wider field of view. But beyond that, what would the differences be?

Yeh he needs to just come out and admit he got painted into a corner on that one and say he doesn’t really mean it. I don’t think he really does want to use drones to kill some guy running out of a liquor store.
