Florida Gov. Rick Scott: We shouldn't turn Zimmerman verdict into politics
Fox News ^ | 7/15/2013 | Stuart Varney (interview)

Posted on 07/16/2013 12:52:07 PM PDT by kevcol

VARNEY: Now, back in March of 2012, right after the event, the president made a statement -- went in front of the cameras and made a statement about the Trayvon Martin case -- and right after the verdict was delivered, he made another statement which I will quote from in a moment.

But, first, do you think that the president inserted himself into the judicial system? Because that has been the subject of some criticism.

SCOTT: Sure. I don't know if he did or didn't. What I just think about is, I think about the family, I think about the fact we have a jury system and I'm appreciative of that. Those six women jurors, that was a tough trial. They deliberated. It's hard. Angela Corey, a very tough prosecutor.

VARNEY: She is being criticized heavily.

SCOTT: But she is a tough prosecutor, one of the toughest in the nation.

VARNEY: Did she overcharge?

SCOTT: Oh, I don't know, but she's a tough prosecutor.

Florida Gov. Rick Scott: We shouldn't turn Zimmerman verdict into politics

You are a politician and you stuck your nose into this when you shouldn't have and now that it has been bloodied you want out.

Too late Rick. When are you going to ask for Angela Corey's resignation???

Now that Zimmerman has been acquitted it shouldn't be about politics.

Had he been convicted, however,...

I hope the good folks in Fla kick him out come election time.

Last time around, I voted for that alien looking sum'bitch as well as Pam Bondi. I won't make the same mistake next time.

Gov. Scott is a bit toooooooo late to bring that issue up.

Seems he supported the entire “railroad” and the circus that surfaced there after. Scott carries plenty of blame for the mess.

Exactly, not one word about the Political PERSECUTION HE ALLOWED of George Zimmerman by installing the slimeball, unethical beast Angela Corey to prosecute a man the POLICE and Local Prosecutor agreed did nothing that rose to a criminal act.

SCOTT is a Weasel. He knew the political theatre being played. The coward caved to it.

Now all he has to say is Corey is a tough Prosecutor? How about CRIMINAL? Unethical? Liar? Slanderous?

I’ll add one other after watching this saga play out.
Incompetent.

Chickens coming home to roost for the Guv who allowed mob threats to force him to appoint a special prosecutor when it was not called for. Don’t negotiate with terrorists Ricky, they just demand more.

They just brought up a good point on FNC. Boy Wonder and all of his pals are going to “boycott” Florida because of the verdict. The Florida government was the entity who tried to lynch Zimmerman. LOL! Morons are everywhere!!!

Is she a tough prosecutor, Rick?

“Yes. Batshit crazy, too, with the scruples of a drunken frat boy.”

“Wait a second. Did I say anything after ‘prosecutor’?”

He sure did and, for what? He had the power to make this right and he buckled and gave into pressure from Obama and Holder and the DOJ paid for mob. He ruined a mans life for politics now he’s playing dumb.

If there weren't going to be charges, then an appointment of a special prosecutor meant there would be charges and then those charges were found to be without merit....

doesn't that mean the Governor, the State Attorney General and the special prosecutor committed a conspiracy against George Zimmerman's right to a FAIR trial?

Just asking. So far, his team is going after the network, the special prosecutor and I think the prosecution 'team', too.

No reason to cut the list short, don'tchknow!

You know, if he would just come out and say that Corey is way out of line in her post-verdict comments, and that she and her staff should cease commenting, that would go a long way toward restoring my confidence in him. But he won’t.

Rick Scott pulled the State Atty in Seminole and put in Angela Corey to appease the Black Ku Klux Klan. This is all politics

Scott and AG Pam Bondi need to be primaried in ‘14.

Wouldn't it just frost his cookies, though, if he got recalled?
