Did the system work? Was justice served? We like to think of those questions as identical. After all, the point of a criminal justice system is to dispense justice. But with the acquittal of George Zimmerman on charges of murdering Trayvon Martin, the system worked, yet justice fell short. This outcome is simultaneously sad but healthy — sad because a 17-year-old boy is dead and his killer walks free; healthy because the verdict seems justified as a matter of law ...
... No doubt race played a role in Martin’s death. Zimmerman likely would not have called the police about a white teenager — even a white teenager wearing a hoodie — walking back from a 7-Eleven.

I’m getting tired of the lynch mob.
If all these people would simply say black teenagers shouldn’t be profiled, they’d have a point. But they lose the argument when they try to prosecute George Zimmerman, who was only defending himself.

The Left continues to ignore the basic facts.
Martin was beating Zimmerman to death & Zimmerman had the right to stop that beating by any means possible.
Martin had the option of running to the apartment a mere 50 yards away, yet he chose to attack Zimmerman instead.
Martin was the aggressor.
The color of their skins is irrelevant.
I would say this woman is stupid, but I know better. She makes her living by capitalizing on conflict & tragedy. She is part of the head of the snake.
I’ve called the cops on suspicious kids before. Younger than 17. And white, too.
But they were walking thru folks’ yards and ran when I asked them what they were doing.
Many people seem to think that the number of people of each race should be punished for crimes should be proportional to that race's fraction of the population; that should be true iff the number of people of each race who commit crimes is proportional to that race's fraction of the population. If an unusually-large fraction of the people in some identifiable group commits crimes, punishing the people who commit crimes will, and should, result in that group having a larger fraction of its people punished--not because they belong to that group, but because the individuals who committed crimes, committed crimes.
I would have bet on it.
