If I were in the area, Id stop and eat there just because of the sign.
Hey...I'd give it a shot. Not sure I'd like African or Caribbean cuisine, but I could probably find something that would suit my palate.
In Texas, if you decide you don't want to eat in a BBQ joint just because it's owned and operated by an African-American, you're probably missing out on the best plate of BBQ you'll get for miles.
This is merely my anecdotal experience here...your mileage may vary. ;-)

Not sure I'd like African or Caribbean cuisine Me neither. I really like Ethiopian food, but Africa is a big place, and doubtless the cuisines vary wildly across the continent. I've had one Liberian dish that was, well, odd. It had little crabs still in the shell, snails and was rather slimy due to an abundance of okra.
I like every Cuban dish I've tried, though.

'I am a black woman. If you are allergic to black people, don't come in': Yorkshire cafe owner warns potential customers she 'doesn't bite' after previous bad reactions.I lived in the UK for several years and this is pure bull sh-t.
In relationship to Texas Barbecue joints owned by black owners you are 101% right. They serve up some of the best that you can get and the patrons are black and white. The patrons of those Barbecue joints buy because it is good.
