Look at the timetable of the Zimmerman case. The prosecution of Zimmerman was drummed by the Dems to motivate their base and re-elect Obama in 2012. Racial division is the heart and soul of the Democrat Party. Racial harmony would destroy them.

If the Obama Administration, via the DOJ or otherwise, decides to prosecute a man who has been (correctly) found not guilty after an extensive investigation and a lengthy trial, the Democrats will suffer a catastrophic loss at the polls next year -- the GOP will take the Senate, and pad its margin in the House, rendering Obama the lamest of lame ducks for the remainder of his term.

Actually, no. Recall they put the maker of the anti-Mohamed film in jail. This was to threaten others. They want to make examples. An “accident” isn’t making an example. It’s an accident. Hits can be carried out as accidents if the purpose is to remove a threat without exciting attention. But if the idea is to excite attention then a hit is out of the question. You want a show trial.
However, in this case, I think they’ll drop it. This has been an embarrassment for Obama from the beginning. The “white” guy wasn’t. The innocent black guy wasn’t. The evidence for self-defense was too strong.
They’ll move onto another more easily handled situation.

It’s my guess that Holder and his goons won’t pursue this, not with the midterm election coming up. Blacks and white liberal base will vote Dem regardless. The tragedy secondary to Trayvon’s unfortunate death has been that he has been used by the media and the left for their political purposes. And Reid is proving it with his statements.
If the media spent the same amount of time properly and honestly investigating Benghazi, the IRS, NSA, etc., then we just might have real news.
