Nick Palacios struggled to get his conservative Pentecostal parents to accept him as a gay evangelical Christian for nearly a decade before his family found a common ground through faith....
a growing number of gay evangelical students are asserting their dual identities with underground clubs and nascent political activism. Last year, for example, a group called the Biola Queer Underground was quashed by Biola University, a small, conservative Christian school in nearby Orange County.
This fall, the LGBT group plans on staging rallies to combat the Biola's longstanding policy on homosexuality that sexual relationships are reserved for heterosexual marriage and address what many students call a campus climate of fear and shame.

When are we going to take a stand against perversion, friends? Not a violent stand, but a radical "NO! THIS IS NOT BIBLICAL AND WILL NOT BE TOLERATED!" stand?
Like Sandra Fluke before them, they’ll enroll for the sole purpose of finding some grievance somewhere.
The article is not quite clear on what this homosexual group at Fuller is all about—accepting the PRACTICE of homosexuality or the acceptance of people who STRUGGLE with that sin...
I can agree with one of those; I have my own struggles with sin (usually my anger)—I am not perfect, and yet believe God accepts me. BUT when I “step out” and behave in a sinful manner, or have that sin in my heart, then I have to repent.
So if these people are repenting and trying to overcome the sin of homosexuality, then I support them...but the article appears to be saying that they are saying that the sin is okay....
sorry thanks.
No problem.
Well, a lot of us do take a stand - but I don't think we are ever effective when we throw the word sodomite around frankly. Yes, I realize it's genesis and meaning and validity...it's just that there are more intelligent ways to win these battles....That term guarantees tuning out of those we need to help win this battle. GUARANTEED.
The sudden mandate to force acceptance and the aggressive tactics used, while perhaps understandable from a certain point of view, shine like a fully illuminated billboard to the view one acquires climbing the mountain.
The higher you climb, the better the view, so you can see the road we're on fairly clearly, if you want to.
You really should see it for yourselves. That's why the signs are put there, for us to see.
If it is accurate and genuine and full of meaning and valid, then perhaps the word ought to be used.
I don’t think most people think or want to think about what happens to the human body during such behavior...and how harmful it can be to the body.
But I digress. That word “sodomite” is RARELY used in public discussion of the sins of homosexuality...and by the way, how are we doing on the stemming of that sin? Not too good.
So I don’t think the use of that word has much to do with our lack of success.
What word would you use? Would you permit the world to change the definition of the behavior, much like they’re trying to change the definition of the word marriage?
To see, one has to open their eyes.
Not to make too big a deal of it, but my comment was in reaction to the fact that the word is used in dozens of headlines on FR daily it seems...
.I just think it’s counter productive. I never heard Paul or Jesus use the word (correct me if I’m wrong) and I’ve never heard Dobson’s organization that reaches out to the gay community use the word. I’ve never heard it used by anyone I thought was effective.
The word is often used by those Christians, many of whom I wonder about, who embarrass the faith. I find the word distasteful and I normally agree with the point of view of the one who used it. It’s a rant word, only useful in venting....
If there is a climate of fear and shame then go to another school. Next problem!
I understand. Good points.
Thanks..enjoyed the chat, appreciate the time you put into posting articles...
I agree (as is often the case) with you. At this time, the word is little more than a way to insult those we are, in fact, called to love, as difficult as that may be. It immediately causes those people to ignore everything that follows.
It is also curious to me that using that kind of insult suggests that a person is solely defined by where they like to place their private parts. That is exactly the opposite of what we should be saying. Human beings, created in the image of God, are much more complex than that. Part of the perversion of the gay lifestyle is the mistaken belief that sexual practice is all that constitutes a person. That is much the same as saying that color is all that defines a person, and the use of the infamous "N-word" merely reinforces that idea, whether used by a black person or used as an epithet by someone else.
Great points !!!!
This sounds like the college's fault; not the perverts' fault. They are just doing what perverts do. It is the college that should have held its ground. If it didn't, it is already soft on non-Christian pop culture.
Do you stand in doorways to prevent these groups from meeting? How long does that last until you are physically removed by the police?
Do you stop donating to this school or that school so that the LGBT movement can gain control one school at a time?
If a growing majority of US citizens is OK with LGBT then who are you protecting from what threat? If religion has become "one's personal relationship with Jesus Christ" then what do you care about what other people say is their "personal relationship with Jesus Christ" even if it involves sodomy?
This is no longer a Christian nation. It has probably not been a Christian nation for longer than we are willing to admit.
Schools are primarily business enterprises. They will accommodate LGBT if they need to. They will listen patiently to the Christian "true believers", wring their hands, and then go ahead and support the LGBT agenda anyway.
HOMOSEXUAL, because there's nothing GAY about it.
Apostle Paul uses sodomite and catamite. “Pitchers, Catchers’.
You call things what they are.
