Absolutely... every time I see Fred Thompson selling reverse mortgages, I want my money back. I understand. I want someone who will set America back to what she is supposed to be and not a person that just wants the power and money like every President has been since Reagan. I want an honest man or woman that will restore America and start dismantling the communist infrastructure in government and society. I want a Committee on UNAMERICAN Activities to bring charges of treason against our domestic enemies!

every time I see Fred Thompson selling reverse mortgages, I want my money back.

When all the Thompson hoopla was going on on FR, I spent 5 minutes doing research and came up with him being head of the committed that wrote the original Campaign Finance bill -- and it was called Thompson-McCain-Finegold.

I had Thompson's number early on. Every time I would post about his history, I got skewered. 'Oh, he has changed' yada yada yada.

I also noted that he would campaign one day and take the next two or three off.

His bandwagon crashed after just a few weeks.

Then came 2012 primary season and FReepers spraining themselves and getting splinters as the jumped from one crashed bandwagon to the next. It wasn't pretty to watch.

Bottom line: Can he/she win against the opposition?

Sadly, for most of the wannabes running in 2008, 20012 and probably 2016, the answer is 'no, they can't'.
