Imagine the pleasant surprise I encountered after reading the headline just in case George Zimmerman walks free adorning the top of a post composed by hip hop mogul and GlobalGrind.com founder Russell Simmons. It was my hope that Simmons, a respected voice in the black community, would spell out for an attentive audience why pundits preparing their audiences for riots in the wake of a possible acquittal were wrong. Instead, Simmons identified a variety of victories that resulted from the killing of Trayvon Martin. He cited setbacks for the National Rifle Association and state-level Stand Your Ground laws which he believes the activists who turned the trial into a political proxy war made possible. Simmons post is just one of many reckless provocations that have become a lamentably familiar aspect of the coverage of this trial and its effect of inflaming passions without enlightening, as National Journals Matthew Cooper put it.
But worse than the base impulse to score political points and threaten national comity by implying that one or another cultural worldview is threatened by a verdict in a far-flung murder trial are the pundits and officials readily preparing for and, in some cases, stoking through innuendo a violent reaction from African-Americans should the jury find Zimmerman not guilty. What is most striking is that few bristle with offense at the obscene implication that African-Americans will be unable to internalize such an outcome without lashing out in an uncivilized fashion.....

It’s not about rioting. It’s about looting. They need an excuse and a new TV and pricey sneakers.
yep, The taxpayers of this Country have provided many things to people for the “greater good” and many have crapped on the generosity. The number of taxpayers will be going down and the tree is going to be so top heavy it’s going to fall over. No one to tax (steal) from anymore.
So, in the SF Bay Area, can we expect to see rioting in —
San Francisco’s Union Square?
Walnut Creek’s Broadway Plaza?
Santana Row...
“What is most striking is that few bristle with offense at the obscene implication that African-Americans will be unable to internalize such an outcome without lashing out in an uncivilized fashion”
Indeed.
But, it’s about as predictable as their voting patterns. IOW, it’s extremely predictable. History shows.
If the shoe fits....
In all truth, folks in the South have gotten along remarkably well. But now, with Obama and this administration working to create division, some goodwill is disappearing.
If Zimmerman is acquitted, Obama can appear on television and solemnly proclaim that America still has a very, very long way to go to achieve racial equality. His low-information fans will eat it up.
I have not lost faith.. it's not the black community per se.
It's who wants to see violence, death and destruction.
Obama and IFOO (ideological friends of Obama) that's who.
.. and if Al Gore himself had not stopped it in 2000 we would have had death and destruction in cities all across America.
Frum's "Gore Speaks" 19 Nov., 2002 column
KARENNA GORE: [Ms Gore describes the "right wing" crowd outside screaming things like "get out of Vice President Cheney's house"] And my whole attitude was, like, "We've got to fight back harder. And where are our crowds?" And my dad, I'll never forget his response. He said, "We have to do what's best for the country, and it is not good for the country to have this kind of divisiveness.["] And he was on the phone, really calling off the dogs. There were people who wanted to fan the the flames of the racial issue and have real unrest. And he was on the phone asking them not to, because of what was best for the country not because of what was best for him politically. And that's really who he is.
[Her father Al Gore] was on the phone, really calling off the dogs. There were people who wanted to fan the the flames of the racial issue and have real unrest. And he was on the phone asking them not to . . . .
What the hell else could that mean? The 1960s Marxist-Alinsky campus radicals (psycho spoiled brats), et al stirred up many a riot in the 1960s. And they have had control of the Democratic Party since the 1970s. From now on that's the way it is until one side or the other wins.
So my fear is that some of my fellow Americans are about to be used - hurt even killed - for the political purposes of a few truly evil people.
That is true, but I actually agree and I think the idea that blacks are like sheep and that they are all going to “riot” if Zimmerman is acquitted is an idea planted by the race baiting folks like Obama and Sharpton.
I think that that most blacks will be fine, because probably every one of them has a lowlife, downwardly-mobile loser like Martin in their family and they know exactly what he was up to.
We’ll be ready. We are always ready. : )
I still believe that Dems have a much smarter plan then letting them riot.
Their plan involves voter turnout 2014. He will tell them to turn truth to power at the ballot box 2014 and remember the VRA court decision,'Selma, Selma".
Maybe Obama will appear as the dark ‘prince of peace’ to save the day.
Zimmermam with spend the rest of his life in court, part of their plan, well at least till Obama leaves office.
Yep, that is the real point of this. They want to loot with impunity. Hope shop owners are prepared.
I agree. At least not outside of Floriduh.
No palpable tension here in Los Angeles.
They already get about 95% of the black vote. Are they going to clone more?
Same deal as Rodney King.
I was at Scoma’s when they rioted at Union Square. Wr were headed to Britex to look at materials for some costumes.
The valet advised against it.
We left and sure enough, before we hit 101 they at. the piers .
I won’t be anywhere near there when it happens this time.
I’ll be 90 miles to the south drinking scotch and watching it on tv..
I have every but of faith they will act on their threats.
So no, it’s not an article of but, an acknowledgement they will follow through .
