SEATTLE CHAMBER MUSIC FESTIVAL

WEDNESDAY, JULY 10

8 PM Pacific (11 PM Eastern)

Listen live on-line here at KING-FM/98.1 website.

Mendelssohhn-Hensel: Quartet in E-flat

Augustin Hadelich, violin
Nurit Bar-Josef, violin
Cynthia Phelps, viola
Bion Tsang, cello

This isn’t the famous Felix Mendelssohn, but his older sister Fanny, who was a gifted pianist and a decent composer in her own right. Nurit Bar-Joseph is Concertmaster with the National Symphony Orchestra in Washington. I kid her about whether the correct term for her is Concertmistress. Bion Tsang is one of our greatest cellists, and I’ve featured him in videos in the past. He teaches at the University of Texas at Austin.

Beethoven: Sonata for Cello and Piano in D, Op. 102/2

Anton Nel, piano
Ronald Thomas, cello

Anton Nel is from South Africa, and he also teaches at UT/Austin.

Tchaikovsky: Trio for Piano, Violin and Cello in A minor, Op. 50

Adam Neiman, piano
Andrew Wan, violin
Julie Albers, cello

Adam Neiman is a great admirer of Ayn Rand, and one of the few classical musicians who is not reflexively liberal on all issues. Andrew Wan is the Concertmaster with the Symphony Orchestra of Montreal.

Thank you very much for tonight's "Remembering Our Troops" thread!

Genuflectimus non ad principem sed ad Principem Pacis!

Listen, O isles, unto me; and hearken, ye people, from far; The LORD hath called me from the womb; from the bowels of my mother hath he made mention of my name. (Isaiah 49:1 KJV)
