Judge Confronts Zimmerman in Testy Exchange

(VIDEO-AT-LINK)

A hostile exchange took place in the courtroom today where George Zimmerman is on trial for second degree murder as Judge Debra Nelson questioned the defendant about his plans to testify.

Nelson reminded Zimmerman that he has the “absolute right to remain silent” if he so desires and proceeded to ask him whether he was prepared to testify. Defense attorney Don West twice objected to the question, but was overruled by Nelson, who explained, “The court is entitled to inquire if Mr. Zimmerman’s determination [sic] as to whether or not he wants to testify.”

The judge then began asking Zimmerman how much time he requires to determine whether or not he would like to testify. West again objected to the question and asked for more time to speak with his client, prompting Judge Nelson to raise her voice and exclaim, “Your objection is overruled!”

The tension escalated as another of Zimmerman’s defense attorneys, Mark O’Mara, was overheard asking under his breath, “What is going on?”(continued)

After watching this trial all day, I don't remember if the Judge made her inquiry of GZ re: his testimony in front of the jury or not.

I don't think she did [I think the jury was out at that time]...leaving the jury to form their own opinions about the absence of his testimony.

What’s the big surprise??? Nelson is on the prosecution’s side, it’s simple.

NO, the Judge can inquire to make sure it is the Defendants decision. HOWEVER not sure about this bit before the Defense is even over

I don’t know what is going on with titles and articles concerning Zimmerman courtroom videos. Regarding ttitlese, maybe it is journalistic practice to keep titles as short as possible. And if such is the case, then the title in this example was possibly shortened to the extent that it sent the wrong message.

Regardless of the title, what I saw in video is the following. Although Zimmerman’s lawyers were possibly correct in objecting to the questions that the judge was asking Zimmerman, the judge remained courteous to Zimmerman, imo, while being belligerent to his lawyers.

My grandchildren are from a large southern city and live in a section with the highest crime rate, I’m glad they are with me. Less then 1% of our population are potential rioters.

The jury was not present when she asked GZ the first time before the defense had finished it’s case.

I think she wanted to embarrass Zimmerman in front of the jury in order to point out to the jury that those who don't testify are often hiding their own guilt.

IANAL, but that sure smells like jury tampering to me.

An appeal on this one is guaranteed if Z is found guilty. This judge is so biased she should be tossed off the bench headfirst.

When “surprising and random things” happen, we’ve learned they’re just “plot setups” which will “pay off later in the movie” as Obama’s plan unfolds.

Remember during the Presidential debates, when Stephanopoulous suddenly throws that random “Do you want to outlaw birth control” question at Romney?

Romney was baffled by the question.

The whole TV audience was sitting on their sofas, like “WHAT THE HELL DOES THAT QUESTION EVEN MEAN? WHERE THE HECK DID THAT COME FROM?”

We found out a month later when Obamatollah and the Islamocommunists launched their “War on Women” campaign targeting the GOP.

Suddenly, that manufactured (and planted) question about “making condoms illegal” went from random to strategic.

zimmerman attorney, not zimmerman.

Not sure what you meant there, but the judge addressed George Zimmerman directly. The attorney objected and was overruled. The attorney was then barked at by the judge, saying she was addressing the defendant. This happened before the defense had finished its case. It was a circus.

There is a significant possibility that if Zimmerman walks on this charge, the Fed Gov will indict him on violating Martin’s rights. The USSC has ruled that there is an exception to the Double Jeopardy clause in A5. The DOJ has a policy about when it will attempt to prosecution that has already been decided at the State level; it is known as the Petite policy http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Double_Jeopardy_Clause. It is possible the judge/defendant is aware of this issue and is trying to avoid a retrial at the federal level. By constantly going out of her way in favor of the prosecution, if the jury returns a not guilty verdict, the DOJ has a harder time pushing a second prosecution. If Zimmerman is declared guilty, he has an easier time appealing the judges decisions and establishing that the trial was unfair.

That this would be attempted in the US is embarrassing.

My rule is to never vote for female judges. The courts are too feminized as it is.

No doubt.

Western civilization (Judea/Christian civilization) is under attack from forces which oppose it.

Liberals and Muslims are straight from the pit of hell. Are any of them redeemable? Of course, any and all.

Will any of them repent? Yes, many.

This is the great commission at its greatest moment

Now is the time...now is the thing we have been preparing for since the beginning.

These are the end-times. We are lucky to be here. God has chosen us to be here.

Get ready to rumble!

We need to get organized!

Sounds like the “judge” is hoping for one more shot to hang Zimmerman... I’m getting the idea she knows the prosecution is failing and is under pressure to get a win for the team.

I hope Obama is proud of himself...this entire government run court is a joke.

Obama has successfully transformed the courts into a tool of political and ideological prosecution and persecution. Gee, just like you'll find in his home country of Kenya and other turd-world nations.

Mission accomplished.
