Today, July 9th, is DAY #21 (of 5th week) State of Florida V. George Zimmerman case.
Yesterday was the first full day of defense witnesses. Perhaps the most significant of the first set were the two police officers who stated Tracy Martin, Trayvon’s father, said on 2/28/12 the cries for help on the 911 calls were NOT Trayvon. Later in the day Tracy Martin took the stand and essentially said the two detectives were lying. A great analysis of the events from yesterday is available HERE.
What additionally strikes as important to us is the first signs of desperation from the original nucleus of the Scheme Team construct, Benjamin Crump and Daryl Parks – attorneys for the Martin family. Parks appeared on Piers Morgan show last night and the video should be watched by anyone who knows how the scheme was constructed.
We accept that Mark O’Mara is conflicted in this case, and he is trying to walk a fine line between presenting a defense to a case built on political pressure and outright fraud; Yet simultaneously avoiding exposition of both the politics and the fraud itself.
The intentionally avoided open doors exposing the fraud creates anxiety for those of us who know what is inside the room he is avoiding. Our prayers are that his passing those wide open doors is based on prudence [within an unknown strategy]. However, our fear is the hasty and politically correct avoidance might cause him to pass by the room holding the key to George Zimmerman’s ultimate ‘long-term’ freedom.
It should be noted the NAACP Annual National Convention starts in Orlando on Friday; Additionally, preparations are being made in/around Miami-Dade for a Wednesday defense wrap up with a community/LEO preparation meeting today.

Seriously... I see your point and I hope all six of these women put aside any and all prejudices and weigh the evidence impartially... that’s ALL I ask. Because if they do that well, I’m convinced they’ll acquit George Zimmerman.

Not in so many words, but the insinuation that they have been willfully dishonest in the discovery process was definitely there in his statements. On the other hand, as someone on this thread commented, if the persecution has been dishonest with the defense in withholding evidence, then they have been dishonest with Judge Elsie ...excuse me, Judge Debbie too. So she should be pissed at the pros, not the d’s.
My opinion only. Testimony will be left in with the Judge giving instructions to Juors to understand his being in courtroom. The will be told that they may or may not believe any or all or none of his testimony.

They have had the “binary” files — not human readable — for several weeks. (However that’s months LESS time than the prosecution has had with those same files.) They have only been able to make sense of the binary files for a shorter time (couple weeks maybe?) with the help of their expert witness.

Molly was the reporter from MyFox Orlando and she told Greta that the defense wants to submit Trayvons text msgs. as they show he knew fighting and wanted to buy a gun. They had no opinion on this but rather, just discussed what had happened for the day.

I listened again to the end of tonight’s tapes...
In fact he DID say pretty much that. His exact words were that the prosecution “lied to this court”.

And it is for this last reason that I suspect the George Zimmerman defense team will try to get Trayvon Martin’s digital records in. While Trayvon Martin’s messages about fighting may be hearsay; the knowledge that they bestowed upon the recipient create a non-hearsay reason to admit them. i.e. to show that Trayvon Martin was a seasoned street fighter.
As an aside, if George Zimmerman’s defense team has the recipients of such messages available, I suspect that it is these witnesses whom the George Zimmerman defense team is concerned will be subject to retaliation or retribution.
Because most any person who knew Trayvon Martin would be from South Florida. Thus they would likely be ostracized within their community and subject to some form of retaliation for testifying “against” Trayvon Martin.

That’s pretty huge if the state prosecutors are found to lie and hide evidence. It’s going to hurt their credibility for future cases and could cause old convictions to get looked at again.
Holy crapola. Cannot believe what all happened. I had to go out for awhile and all hell broke loose. Cannot wait til we start tomorrow. Should be something.
