I agree. I call this the infantilization of America.
It is happening everywhere. For example, there was no such thing as a "Gourmet Cupcake" until 2005. Prior to that, cupcakes existed as a confection for very young children to eat with their hands. Older children and adults ate with a fork.
Starbucks coffee cups and lids look indistinguishable from "sippy cups" we give to toddlers.
It will only get worse with the Millennials, who grew up on chicken nuggets and pizza rolls. I can't wait to see the gourmet chicken nuggets on the menu of five-star restaurants. I do think I can start a charm school to teach millennials in sales how to eat with a knife and fork so they don't look like a rube at a business dinner with a 60-year old executive.
The kids think the elders are just quaint and will be gone soon, so none of that matters to them. They also see no point to utensils if a tortilla/wrap is available.
Saw an article yesterday about how people with lots of visible tattoos and piercings are no longer facing job discrimination because of their decorations.
Within 15 years or less, they will be doing all the hiring and if you are 50 today, you will no longer be considered due to *advanced age*.
Speaking of chewable:
These food organizations that think showing some jerk, or either gender, stuffing a large mass of food into their gaping maw, is going to make me want to buy their product.
If I want to see slobbering and drooling; I’ll watch my pets wolf down their chow!
I’ve never in all my life seen someone eat a cupcake with a fork.
