In a just world, people would hang for this. Or the IRS would be permanently abolished, because it obviously can’t discharge its entrusted duties correctly.
Neither can the census bureau/department of commerce. Come census-taking time, I always tape a large printout on my front and back doors of a NYTimes story, which was published some years ago about the huge internet drop of citizens’ personal information.
