The Broward Sheriff’s Office, working closely with the Sanford Police Department and other local law enforcement agencies, has coordinated a response plan in anticipation of the verdict.
Freedom of expression is a constitutional right. While raising your voice is encouraged, using your hands is not. BSO has created a public service announcement with the help of kids from the Jason Taylor Foundation, H.A.N.D.Y. (Helping Abused, Neglected, Disadvantaged Youth) and basketball star James Jones of the championship Miami Heat team urging young people not to let their emotions get the best of them.
“We don’t have information about a specific event that might take place at the conclusion of the trial, but we encourage everyone to keep any protests peaceful,” Sheriff Scott Israel said.
Members of the BSO Strategic Investigation Division have been monitoring the pulse of the situation, maintaining open lines of communication with community leaders, civic activists, members of the clergy, as well as local, state and federal agencies.

I wonder what it feels like to be a member of a group that has to be communicated to in this way. I think I’d be ashamed if messages asking me not to loot and kill had to be produced and targeted at me like this.

The way to prevent a riot in this case is for this judge to permit the scheme to railroad Zimmerman to be exposed in court and those involved to face a justice of their own. Thus riots after the trial is in the hands of the judge not the jury.

I was at Academy the other day and a guy comes to the checkout with several boxes of ammo. His total was over $250. I asked how he got that much ammo. He told me that his buddy works the in sporting goods dept.

Pretty bad to live in a country in fear of a particular segment of the population looting and rioting if they don’t get their way. Riots in Florida are pretty much out of the question. Would be looters are not one drop of blood more bulletproof than Saint Crayon and the populace is prepared for it.
There might be riots in Detroit and Chicago, but how will anyone be able to tell?
