John Boehner: No House vote on Senate immigration bill

House Speaker John Boehner is sticking to his position: The House will not vote on the Senate-passed immigration bill.

“I’ve made it clear and I’ll make it clear again, the House does not intend to take up the Senate bill,” Boehner said Monday. “The House is going to do its own job in developing an immigration bill.”

Boehner is making a tricky comment here.

If the House does it own bill of any kind, then the legislative process leads to a “compromise” or “imperfect deal” as Boehner called the tax hike and debt ceiling increase he pushed through in January.

No immigration bill of any kind must pass the House.

If one does, we are on our way to an Obama signature on the amnesty.

If an immigration bill is passed, it has to be “reconciled” in committee. It will be marked up as an amnesty bill, and then it automatically gets an up-or-down vote in both the Senate and the House. So we’ll end up with an amnesty bill.

We don’t have a broke system. We have lack of enforcement. Go figure.

“The House is going to do its own job in developing an immigration bill.”

This wouldn’t bother me if the Speaker was Louie Gohmert.

However, with Bonehead as Speaker this is a very worrisome situation.

Watch for the House equivalent of the Corker-Hoeven amendment to give the House Reps the cover to vote for amnesty. The Reps want an increased guest worker program so badly they are willing to concede almost anything to get it. We used to "need" immigrants to do jobs Americans wouldn't do, now we "need" them to do jobs Americans can't do.

Both parties have abandoned the American worker. They want an inexhaustible supply of cheap labor to take American jobs and depress wages. A pox on all of them.

As a dozen posters have basically said - what Boehner means is that he will try to push through some innocent sounding Border Security Bill - then that Bill will be put into the House - Senate Conference Committee and merged with the Senate Bill - 99% of the Senate Bill will survive and 1% of the House Bill will survive and the Senate Bill will be passed as a compromise and obama will sign Amnesty into law...

SOLUTION: Read recent history - employ the 2006 Speaker Hastert solution - Run out the clock... hold hearings in D.C. and around the country ALL SUMMER... Kill the Bill through inaction

No.

Here, on sunday nights if one is forgetful enough to stop in on the way home and stupid enough to get on regular instead of express line at the supermarket, you can drop dead as far as anyone, including the managers whose corp. heads are running this country destroying deal.

The lines are long and full of spanish only includidng the checkout clerks.

They take so long you can just have a heart attack and die. They are very busy with all kinds of paperwork. Food stamps, cards, separating groceries.

This is Contribution!?

No there is some kind of corruption of a level never foreseen and never before seen.

These guys are on a nwo push or something.

BTTT!

Boehner seems to be saying he won't bring the Senate bill up without the majority of Repubs supporting it, we know they won't.

He's leaving open a House bill to send to the Senate.

DON”T VOTE ON THE SENATE BILL OR BRING UP A HOUSE BILL!

Agreed. We don’t need any new bills. Enforce our current immigration laws. If someone is here illegally, they must return to their country of origin and apply the correct way. People who break the law and don’t respect our process should not benefit from breaking the law.

Bohner’s and McConnell’s surrogates are meeting TONIGHT to plot the GOP’s Amnesty sellout in time for Wednesday’s GOP Amnesty conference.

Republicans meet to talk immigration (Paul Ryan, Ron Johnson, others...)

I do not want any action on any immigration bill, Mr, Boehner.

Do not attempt to play word games with me, I am in no mood for more treachery from you and your pathetic ilk.
