Obama to outline second-term tech plan for 'smarter' government
8:42am EDT
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - President Barack Obama will describe on Monday his second-term plan for "smarter government" by using technology and data to deliver services faster and save taxpayers money, the White House said.
Obama will meet privately with his cabinet on Monday morning about the plan and then make public remarks at 11:50 a.m. (1550 GMT).
The White House said the plan would build on progress made so far in opening up government data to entrepreneurs and in modernizing government services.

smarter government An oxymoron like "gay rights.
What he really means is doing everything he can to eliminate all this needless "separation of powers" and "limited government" nonsense and streamline the federal government so that when it wants to commandeer something (like your rights) or come after you for not acquiescing, it can do it quickly and efficiently

No, he means these contractors are going to pay the us government for giving them our private data. We still pay for bloated government, and Obama gets an additional stream of revenue to spread around to FOB’s.

‘Smarter government’ requires lots and lots of turnover, strict term limits, and preventing career politicians as much as possible. Among other things, this ensures that people elected to public office have other skills and expertise that they use to support themselves.

And thus the Bay Area techies who have been writing him all those big checks get their payoff.

"Smarter" as in with a photographic memory of everything anyone has ever said, written, downloaded, tweeted, or updated. Where they have traveled, what they have bought, when they were where, whom they were with, what pictures they took. What doctors they have seen, what they have told their therapist(s), what medications they receive. Everything. That kind of smarter.
