I don’t think I’d be able to see well enough to hit very much @ 500 yds with my tired old eyes. I’d probably need one of those Barrett BORS to hit anything.Depends on the size of the gongs! Actually, I've only shot at 500 once, and it was an experience. I was on the paper, but the paper's pretty big to give the correct sight picture with military sights. It was my friend's match M-14. Very nice shooting gun.
I'm a little more in tune with 200 yards, but I think I need to increase that.

That’s beautiful! I haven’t seen much in the way of blue skies lately. We’ve had 9.46 inches of rain here since I reset my gauge last Monday. Can’t even finish mowing the lawn.
I think I might mow it tomorrow but it’s going to be very slow-going. It’s long and wet. Like mowing seaweed!
Planning on a trip to the range with the SOCOM next Friday morning. I re-centered the front sight so I think I need to play around at 50, then 100. That’s all they have there, but if I can hit black consistently at 100, I’m probably good at least to 200 or so.
