No, with all respect, your mistaken. Perhaps your speaking to transplants, but true native Texans are fed up with illegals. We've lived with this problem for decades.
Our insurance rates are higher, our taxes are higher, we have overcrowded emergency rooms, gang violence, drugs, we've had wages for Texans pushed down because of the flood of super cheap labor, we have human trafficking, formerly eradicated diseases are resurfacing to include TB, measles, hepatitis, whooping cough to name a few.
Trust me, even first and second generation Texans of Mexican decent want the border sealed.
I hope so but I have had some fierce discussions with Texas ranchers on/near the border and they seem to think it is fine for illegals to come across and work like they always have, and many deny there are serious issues with human trafficking, drug smuggling, and other border issues. Many tell me they have so many friends and employees that are illegal, some have been here for many years and they don’t want to rock that boat. They act as though it is part of Texas culture.
