President George W. Bush cautioned against criticizing gay couples, saying in an interview on “This Week” that you shouldn’t criticize others “until you’ve examined your own heart.”

The "gay marriage issue" isn't about criticizing queers, George. You made the same simplistic mistake regarding border security and illegal aliens when you called them "good hearted people." In both cases it's about the law and the underlying principles not whether homosexuals or illegal aliens are likable or not. It's hard to believe that someone who was president for eight years could be so oblivious.

No one asked him to criticize gay couples.

“...In a comment to a reporter in Zambia, who asked whether gay marriage conflicts with Christian values...”

They asked Bush if gay marriage conflicts with Christian values and he wouldn’t answer the question.

No one is criticizing homosexuals for living together. They can already do that in civil unions. I guess he is okay with homosexuals adopting and raising children. That’s the real question here.
