If you thought the delay in the employer mandate was bad news for Obamacare, just wait. On Friday, Sarah Kliff and Sandhya Somashekhar of the Washington Post discovered that the Obama administration had buried in the Federal Register the announcement that the government wont be able to verify whether or not applicants for Obamacares insurance exchange subsidies are actually qualified for the aid, in the 16 states that are setting up their own exchanges. Instead, until at least 2015, these states will be able to accept the applicants attestation [regarding eligibility] without further verification.
Without employer mandate, Feds to rely on applicant attestations
If youve been following the latest news around Obamacare, you know that on Tuesday evening, just before the Independence Day holiday, the White House announced that it would be delaying the implementation of the health laws employer mandaterequiring all firms with more than 50 employees to provide health coverage to their workersuntil 2015.
I, and several others at the time, said wait a minute. According to the law, you arent eligible for Obamacares subsidies if your employer has offered you what the government considers affordable coverage. But if employers are no longer going to report whether or not theyve offered affordable coverage, how can the government verify whether or not workers are eligible for subsidies?

I bet the crackas will get checked.
In order to check whether someone is truly exempt, the IRS has to know whether the employer offers coverage and at what price.....
Only the creepy-ass ones.
They are probably going for ‘single payor’ by warping the passed law.
Kind of like registering to vote? Nobody is going to check. No big deal.
Totalitarian government control was the goal from the very start. FUBO!!
So let me get this straight...it was recently reported that millions of dollars of fraudulent income tax refunds were delivered to multiple people using the same address - and no effort to find or prosecute was in the offing.
The IRS expects us to voluntarily report our healthcare insurance information so they can determine how much to fleece us. Why not just have everybody give them the same information? If they are so inept that they must rely on this bogus honor system why not give them what they want?
Maybe the plan is to stupefy so when the coup de grâce comes people won’t know what hit them. FUBO
Only maker crackers will be checked.
Perhaps Microsoft, Apple,IBM and every single programmer in the world has refused to give the IRS an “app” for that?
Or (more likely) there are also hidden fines and fees, with interest, also tacked in there somewhere for knowingly or unknowingly “cheating”, with no statute of limitations.
17,000 new IRS Agents ready for “TARGETED” verification.
You nailed it. This is just perfect to redistribute more money to favored classes and harass groups opposed to The Regime.
I thought the House has refused to give the IRS any more money to hire 17,000 new agents. That should put a kink in the Obamacare plan. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I think, until told otherwise, that I am right.
Saw it first hand in the Katrina aftermath. Black, female “workers” with government money in the form of temporary EBT cards and other hand-outs. One person said they weren’t sure if they qualified and the lady, in front of everyone, told him not to worry as they could add extra family members, even if they really don’t need help, to ensure approval.
Since Obama can just do whatever the hell he pleases, the House should do the same, cut off the money already authorized,oh I forgot, the republicans are without balls
