What gets me, too, is that not only are by-standers NOT defending her - NO ONE even goes to her to help her after that scum punk kicks her in the face. They just stand there or walk by (one guy almost stepping over her).

The sad story of GZ, among many other things that are wrong.
Did you watch that reenactment that GZ did with the police? He said that several neighbors saw him being beaten, on the ground, but did not help him, outside of calling 911. This is what the current justice system wants them to do, and nothing else. Try to be proactive, and they will destroy you. The system wants to keep the monopoly on violence.

You could ask some of the Ayn Rand fans around here. They would contend that none of the witnesses or bystanders have any moral duty to the victim, but it would have been ok for them to get involved if it served their self-interest.
