That is basically me. Carrot's were not on the horizon when I was a kid, taste. To this day I dislike bitter tasting foods. Celery ranks as #1 followed by peppers of any kind. I learned to love carrots by adding just a tad of brown sugar to them, just like I learned to eat sweet potatoes. Now I love them but don't want a steady diet of them.

I did not make my boys eat what they disliked, but had enough choices that they could eat around what they did not want. They rarely left the table hungry, unless they chose not to eat any thing that was offered. Their fault, not mine, as I am a standard meat, veggie and potato type southern cook. Boy could they scarf up fried chicken, mashed potatoes and green beans or corn with iron skillet made corn bread. :-)

But I refused to be a cafeteria type cook like my mom was, she did not work. I worked, was a single mom (for a decade), and did not have the time to cater to each persons only likes/wants

Kind of miss that kind of cooking as it is down to just the new (5 years) Mr and Me. You kind of have to change how you cook because of the Cholesterol thing for one of the other or both in our case. Now it is a rare treat.

I don't believe in forcing any one to eat what they dislike...unlike when you are in the hospital and they bring you a bowl of broth swimming in grease and salt, jello and Popsicle that taste of chems, had to live on juice, tea and coffee for 3 days it was so nasty. ENSURE is another do not bring me thing, it goes in the toilet.

I have learned to be careful what kind of carrots to buy. The kind from California tend to be somewhat bitter, so I avoid them.

I remember when my son was a baby and I gave him baby food, I always tasted his food. One day I gave him orange squash. When he made a face after I gave him his first spoon with the squash he made a face and spit it out. I tasted it then and then said no wonder you don't like it. After that I never bought any orange squash. I do like yellow squash and Zucchini squash and will buy and eat it when ever possible

Where I live, people only lock their car doors when the go into town in the summer. If you don't, someone will leave grocery bags of zucchini on your front seat while you're gone.

Totally on topic. That ad is just more proof as to how nutty liberals really are. Well done.
