If she loved him so much, then why wasn’t he under her care at the time of the incident? Sorry...but that doesn’t wash. She neglected him and failed to fulfill her parental obligations... just as his dad did. Leaving a kid alone to his own devices immediately after he gets in trouble (with the law) is not just crappy parenting, it’s downright stupid. TM should have been grounded and not even allowed to go to a damned store, much less alone at night/after dark.

Granted, she may not have been a perfect mother and she may even have been a bad mother, but that doesn mean she doesn’t love her son. Whether she loves him or not, really doesn’t matter as far as the case is concerned. That she testified this way is no surprise.
