Mary Frances and I watched it earlier this evening. It's always a good show, and it's hard not to get it confused with the Memorial Day Observance from the Mall.
Mary Frances was in Hog Heaven with the Motown - I have fond memories of many of those tunes as well. Not a bad show, all in all.
I still miss the "old days" - when you could take a blanket and a few beers, or whatever else you wanted, and sit on the West Lawn of The Capitol and listen to the National Symphony, or the U.S. Army Band, with a host like Charles Durning or Ossie Davis, both WWII Veterans, saying a few words about what this day means for us.
There was a lot of nice music, but I thought there should have been something more about the day. It's much more than a celebration, in my opinion.
It's a solemn observance.

I agree....I’ve watched some with Durning and Davis. They had much more meaning.
