Is Rubio becoming the Poster Boy for what’s wrong with the GOP?

Let me guess, fresh off of selling out on immigration, Rubio wants to begin re-building his brand by pandering to social conservatives? Rubio’s move is textbook red state politics – both geographically and the reference to red state as a site holds true as well.

While Libertarian, I support pro-Life pols and causes. Don’t get me wrong. But this is an old and out-dated model of politics. As with the red state site, it’s what Washington thinks the base is and wants, not what it actually is and does want. Far from being an up and comer, turns out Rubio is, at best, just another old GOP sell-out who thinks that pandering to social cons can and will save his bacon.

Just because he made promises he knew he had no intention of keeping?

I voted for Marco based on his promises
I WILL NEVER VOTE FOR HIM AGAIN.
If he becomes the GOP canidate...and is not primaried out by a true conservative... then I will vote for a conservative even if its third party
I will not HOLD MY NOSE again

The GOPe finally overplayed their hand. 'Comprehensive Immigration Reform' is too obviously a bid for big business money only, never mind it hands the country to the democrats forever after. Never mind that it puts the American public at risk a dozen major ways.

In his eagerness to ingratiate himself with the GOPe powers that be Rubio fed us too many lies and treated us like hicks who are incapable of grasping the obvious.

Silly gestures like loud declarations of support for symbolic conservative issues - the usual red meat - won't cut it this time, IMO. Maybe the worm has finally turned.

Y.E.S. in addition to a pit full of RINO America-betraying vipers that need purging sooner rather than later.

If we could somehow keep GOP politicians from ever going to Washington, most of them would be just fine.

Rubio was great before he went to DC.

No because he's only been elected to national office once. The problem with the GOP is we keep electing a Capitol full of McConnells, McCains, Grahams, Bohners, Hatchs, Isaksons, Chambliss', Collins, etc, etc, etc ...

Perhaps we must die to be born again.

GOP is dead, they commited political suicide a long time ago. All that remains is the paid shills attracting the financial and corporate interests to join the democratic party, via funding demoocrats who get elected by placing an R next to their name. And they attracted all of the beggars, losers, and exploiters in the republican party like a charm. Now all they have to do is stomp out all of those constitution loving conservatives, and the stranglehold on power will be complete.

Welcome to one party fascist rule.

I have always argued against 3rd party voting because it leads to the worse of two evils winning every time. However, this weak sister GOP needs to be put out of its misery. I will no longer go along. No more voting for the feckless unprincipled Quislings that are dished up to us every election. Let the GOP immolate itself. Let the radical Left win the election. The nation needs the object lesson of having to live under the Bolsheviks. I dare not write more.

The poster boy? How do you choose just one from so many, many other great choices??

He's just one month from their big hit calendar series of favorites.

After posting my earlier reply I read this very interesting article at Legal Insurrection discussing research by The Frontier Lab into why folks are disaffiliating with the GOP.

The results were fascinating; after combining the flowcharts from individuals who share conservative or moderate views and no longer will use the label “Republican” to describe themselves, we ascertained four core patterns that they had in common:

1. Rejection of the “Lesser of Two Evils” argument;

2. Articulation of “Loss of Hope” in the GOP;

3. Affiliation with a new community, and

4. Incident of perceived betrayal by the GOP establishment.

I expect that amnesty will punch up the count on #4 substantially.

Well, I’d agree that he’s the LATEST poster boy for what’s wrong with the republicrat party.

Eventually, even the Whigs went away and died out to a third party.

Difficult it may be, it's not impossible.
