I have a pretty agile mind but I have no idea how you can logically go from the Battle of Gettysburg to a pro-sodomy rant. That is one messed up woman.

She is not really an accomplished historian. Her husband, Richard N. Goodwin wrote all of her books.

I’m sure Picket, Longstreet, Lee, Early, Mead, Warren, Sickles,Custer, Howard, Harlow, Armistead et.al have turned themselves face down in their graves. I would have like to been in that other dimension where they all are and listen to their comments as she spoke.

Of course Liberal Dems these days love to step all over the “Bill of CIVIL Rights” that is the first 10 amendments of the constitution!!!

Ain’t got a right to free speech or religion if you are a christian, Ain’t got a right to arms, something about quartering troops, Got no knock warrants and the NSA, Due process and eminent domain are gone, Speedy trials are now media show trials, federal juries are unreliable boot lickers, Cruel and unusual punishment for citizens compared to aliens of the same offense, the 9th is ignored by the 9th circus courts, and the 10th has turned from being a protector of liberty to the justifacion of “wickard” people who have not had their “fill-born” of federal power.....

We need a new Civil Rights movement, one to restore the bill of CIVIL rights!

the struggle to end discrimination against gays and lesbians took a giant step forward."

Creating a Godless society where God's ordained institutions are destroyed is the opposite of recognizing natural rights.

Rights about this, rights about that? What this world needs is a ‘wrongs movement’.
Time to admit our wrongs before a Righteous God and humble ourselves for a truly blessed existence in return.
Having a devil’s pride insisting on human demands is a recipe for destruction.

Basically, this behavior is disrespect.

Godwin didn't respect the audience, didn't respect the occasion, and didn't respect the historical reason for the occasion.

The best thing we can do is return the favor and not respect her, her opinions, or the preening class of self-styled superior people she belongs to (e.g.,liberal Democrats).

She had an opportunity to say something worth of remembrance. Instead, she said something we cannot forget quickly enough.

She has made a hell of a living revising history to present a liberal point of view.

She should have started the speech with a historical quiz for the audience.....What do Doris Kerns Goodwin, Mike Barnicle, and VP Joseph Biden have in common?????

In retrospect she and fellow libs would have revised the battle to having the men of the north and south sodomize each other on the battlefield as one big Union army. Anyone who rebelled against it would be a bigot and shot onsite.
We shall overcum.

A plagiarist with a tiny mind. Really, who could or would work with LBJ and come up with the shiite she did about that. A true mental midget.

The thing to ask is— who booked her? When they could have had any number of nationally admired war historians. The why is good Lord, she worked on Spielbergs “Lincoln”. Honest to God. That would be the “Lincoln” that repeated the gayboy agenda saying HE was gay. Really, Southerners don’t like Lincoln but would never believe that. Or the moral equivalence of idiots like Goodwin. Wrote her direct on how utterly idiotic it was to expound on shiite that had nothing to do with the purpose of the Park or the cemetery, which WAS dedicated by Lincoln in a very solemn address (and did not include homo agenda items). Deo Vindice.

she’s been an idiot for a long time....the accolades she gets for her ‘research’ and writing are so far over the top. She has openly admitted plagiarizing. Moreover reading her books has left me unimpressed. She draws illogical conclusions and has a thought process that is typical of the feminist. I find her works dull and uninformative

No surprise here...DKG is a Bitch. The fact that she dishonored the brave soldiers of The Union and The Confederacy is unforgivable. I have never cared for her but now I really can’t stand to hear her name.
I wish her nothing but the worst that life will bring her in the future. She has earned it at Gettysburg.
She knew the historical importance of the moment but she chose to suck on the gay/lesbian teats.
Read Lincoln’s address and compare.

Universities should realize that they don’t have to bring in the dregs just to have a speaker. Better a band concert to fill the time. What an embarrassment. But, then again, these university administrators will excuse hack 5th rate talks under cover of freedom of speech.

Her husband is over 80 and not all there mentally. I suspect she's losing it herself at 70.

Or maybe it goes back before that. Her Dartmouth commencement address 15 years ago was also all about "me, me, me, and LBJ and Eleanor."

Maybe it started when Ken Burns asked her to ramble on about her childhood and the Brooklyn Dodgers and put her ramblings on TV.

Didn’t this wrinkled monkey commit plagiarism simultaneously, and at the same time, as she was giving LBJ a BJ?
